Mindy’s boyfriend, David Wilson, was found shot in their Arkansas home on Jan. 13. Now, as an alleged affair on David’s part comes to light, Mindy is being investigated. Did she kill her ‘soul mate’ out of jealousy?
Troubled country singer Mindy McCready is reportedly being investigated for any possible role she played in the shooting death of her live-in boyfriend and father of her youngest child, David Wilson, in their Heber Springs, Arkansas home on Jan. 13. David allegedly cheated on Mindy and threatened to leave her on the day that he died.
David, 34, was transported to the nearby Baptist Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:00pm.
“David had been carrying on an affair for many weeks before the shooting. When Mindy found out, it fueled a lot of very heated fights,” an unidentified source reportedly told The National Enquirer.
“The tension in their household became so unbearable that David packed up and left. He returned several days later to tell Mindy that he was going to leave her for good,” the source adds.
While an initial report claimed that David died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound and police were unsure if anyone was home at the time, The National Enquirer is now saying that Mindy was the one who made the call to 911.
Mindy reportedly told investigators that she didn’t hear the gunshot because the volume on the TV was too loud and the emergency operator allegedly heard a man moaning in the background when Mindy was making the call.
'There [seem to be] a lot of elements to the case that police feel simply don't seem to add up,” the source told the magazine.
Mindy McCready’s Statement On David Wilson’s Passing
Mindy, 37, released a statement regarding David’s passing, saying, “Today, we mourn the loss of my life partner and my children’s father, David Wilson. David was my soulmate; he was a caregiver and guiding hand to our sons, Zander and Zayne. He was a precious gift from God to all of us and, yesterday, he returned home and is now with his mother and father. David loved and he was loved. Those who knew and loved him will miss him; those who did not know David missed the opportunity to know a truly loving and gifted man.”
The couple had been together for around two years. David is the father of Zayne, Mindy’s nine-month old son. Her older son Zander’s father is country singer Billy McKnight.
