The ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ couple may not be getting that divorce just yet! A new report claims that Porsha and Kordell are still working on their marriage and have decided to give it another chance. Keep reading for more details.
With Kordell Stewart filing divorce papers and Porsha Stewart responding with legal documents demanding alimony, the couple’s marriage appeared to be over. But a new report now alleges that they haven’t called it quits just yet!
Kordell & Porsha Stewart Are Getting Back Together?
The couple has been undergoing extensive marriage counseling, both together and separately, a source close to the family told Media Takeout. The source alleges that Porsha and Kordell are working towards reconciliation, and that they have decided to give their marriage another chance.
Allegedly, the couple could announce their plans to get back together as soon as tomorrow, Apr. 1 (we’re not even touching the April Fools implications).
Kordell & Porsha Stewart Were Headed For Divorce
If the report is true, it’d be quite a turnaround from previous developments in the couple’s divorce saga. Their recent legal actions against each other alone have not suggested a plan to reconcile in any way — and a statement from Porsha’s rep as well as multiple reports haven’t either.
On Mar. 22, Kordell filed for divorce, a move that reportedly “blindsided” Porsha, according to TMZ. Since then, Porsha has filed legal documents of her own, demanding that Kordell pay her alimony and that she be allowed to stay in their house. Porsha gave up everything for Kordell to devote herself to him and raise his son, Syre, a friend told E!. The demand for alimony is her “standing up for herself, finally,” the friend said.
Kordell & Porsha Stewart: Was The Couple Trying To Work Things Out?
So up until today, Mar. 31, Kordell and Porsha seemed to be quickly headed for a separation. A statement to Us Weekly from Porsha’s rep seemed to also confirm that. However, with this new report in mind, the statement can be read a little differently:
Mrs. Stewart had held off on filing for a divorce herself and remained committed to the marriage because Mr. Stewart promised to work on the marriage with her. Instead, he misled her and she found out about the filing in the media. Mrs. Stewart hopes to resolve these personal issues privately with the support of her family, friends and strong faith.
Porsha’s rep does admit that the couple had discussed working on their marriage, but that the talks were silenced by Kordell’s (possibly premature) divorce papers. Is it possible that Kordell is now recognizing his mistake, and that he and Porsha are back on track towards reconciliation? Reportedly, we may not have to wait more than a day to find out!
