Jay Leno Congratulates Jimmy Fallon After Being Replaced Apr 4th 2013, 12:10 After over 20 years of service as the host of ‘The Tonight Show,’ Jay showed last night, Apr. 3, that he had no hard feelings about being replaced. Read on to see what he said in his funny monologue! Jay Leno is handling being replaced by Jimmy Fallon admirably. On Apr. 3, in his first show since the announcement that Jimmy would be taking over The Tonight Show in 2014, Jay was a good sport, congratulating his successor and making jokes like always. Jay Leno Humorously Congratulates Jimmy Fallon Jay began his monologue with a sincere congratulations to Jimmy, but it didn’t take too long for the longtime late night host to get cynical and humorous. “I just have one request of Jimmy,” Jay said. “We’ve all fought, kicked, and scratched to get this network up to fifth place, okay? Now we have to keep it there. Jimmy, don’t let it slip into sixth. We’re counting on you.” He continued, adding another joke that jabbed NBC: “Jimmy hasn’t even taken over yet and the rumors have already started. NBC says in five years they plan to replace Jimmy with Justin Bieber.” David Letterman On The Late Night Shake-Up Over on CBS, Jay’s longtime late night rival David Letterman used the big news for material in his own monologue. “I got a call from my mom today, (and) she says, ‘Well, David, I see you didn’t get the ‘Tonight Show’ again.” David bolted for CBS when Jay was chosen as Johnny Carson’s successor to The Tonight Show in 1992. David also noted that he was feeling a bit of deja vu, referring to NBC’s failed experiment to replace Jay with Conan O’Brien in 2009: “He’s being replaced by a younger late night talk show host – what could possibly go wrong? Honestly. They had pretty good luck with this in the past.” It will be exciting to see where the late night cards fall as Jay looks for a new gig and Jimmy gets comfortable in his new role. Daddy Yankee: Rapper's Rep Denies Gay Rumors Apr 4th 2013, 11:27 After a photo of a man who appeared to be the ‘Gasolina’ rapper kissing another man surfaced on the internet on Apr. 3, a rep has publicly refuted the swirling rumors and stated that Daddy Yankee NEVER came out. Keep reading for more details. With rumors of Daddy Yankee’s sexual orientation building up online, and after multiple Spanish-language websites published stories claiming that the rapper had officially come out as homosexual, his publicist released a statement denying all claims. Daddy Yankee’s Rep Refutes Gay Rumors “Online blogs and social media are once again to blame for the spread of false news reports, which other media outlets have also shared regarding a public figure,” said Mayna Nevarez, president of public relations firm Nevarez Communications. Mayna continues, saying that one unreliable website’s report gained steam through social media, but not on merit: “The reports circulating regarding Daddy Yankee’s declaration of homosexuality was falsely written by an online outlet known for fabricating false information and spreading it through social media sites.” The rumors around Daddy Yankee really took off on Apr. 3 when several Spanish-speaking websites posted stories with a picture of a man who looked like the rapper, kissing another man. The stories claimed that the rapper had released a statement officially coming out. However, fans remained skeptical and many pointed out that there were minor physical differences between Daddy Yankee and the man in the picture. Daddy Yankee Condemns Rumors On Twitter Both Daddy Yankee and his rep have been quick to squash what they say is a false story. Besides Mayna’s statement, Daddy Yankee also posted a quote — in Spanish — from Albert Einstein saying, “I fear the day when technology overlaps humanity.
