HollywoodLife.com spoke with the spokesperson for the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department on Jan. 29 and he told us that they are definitely going to talk to Chris and that Frank never said he wanted charges filed.
Chris Brown better start talking! HollywoodLife.com spoke with Steve Whitmore, the spokesperson for the LASD about the on-going investigation between Chris and Frank Ocean. The singer, who was just spotted out wearing a cast after the Jan. 27 fight, despite claiming to have never thrown a punch in the Frank Ocean fight, is working with police.

Steve Whitmore tells HollywoodLife: “Frank Ocean can’t press charges because he doesn’t have the legal authority to do so. The District Attorney would have to do it. It’s a misdemeanor battery. Of course we are going to talk to Chris and he’s cooperative. Frank didn’t say he wants charges filed, he just wants the investigation to go forward.”
We told you that we got a statement right after the fight who told us: “West Hollywood Station deputies are investigating allegations that Chris Brown assaulted an unnamed victim. Deputies responded to a call of six males fighting at the 7200 block of Santa Monica Boulevard, West Hollywood. Upon their arrival, deputies talked to witnesses who stated that Chris Brown and the victim were involved in an altercation over a parking space. The altercation allegedly led to Chris Brown punching the victim. After a brief fight, the parties were separated. Chris Brown and his entourage left the location prior to the arrival of deputies. The investigation is on-going and investigators will contact Chris Brown at a later time.”
Chris Brown Is Still On Probation
The singer is currently on probation for assaulting Rihanna in 2009 and he has one year left on his five-year probation.
