The star admits that she’s down putting herself through the torture of wearing sky-high pumps — but what would her alter-ego, Carrie Bradshaw, think?
Sarah Jessica Parker is known for her affinity for fashion. Whether on Sex & The City or on the red carpet, the star has worn some of the most covetable footwear around — but the days of wearing killer pumps are over for the 47-year-old!
“For ten or so years, I literally ran in heels,” the star admits to Net-a-Porter’s digital fashion magazine. “I worked 18-hour days and never took them off. I wore beautiful shoes, some better made than others, and never complained.”
While there’s no denying the fact that SJP thought she could live in heels forever, unfortunately that isn’t the case. “I went to a foot doctor and he said, ‘Your foot does things it shouldn’t be able to do. That bone there… You’ve created that bone. It doesn’t belong there.’ The moral of the story is, the chickens are coming home to roost. It’s sad, because my feet took me all over the world, but eventually they were like, ‘You know what, we are really tired, can you just stop – and don’t put cheap shoes on us?’”
Sure, we can’t expect to see SJP running in heels anytime soon, but she’ll still slip into a gorgeous pair for a red carpet, (or a photo shoot!). SJP continued to spill on her style, admitting, “I wear seven percent of what's in my closet. I have more pants, more jeans and more corduroys than I ever imagined I'd own in my life.”
It sounds like the former Carrie Bradshaw is now a practical, multi-tasking mom — but she still looks fantastic! Are you surprised to hear that SJP has embraced a new set of style rules?
