Tim Curry, who is best known for his show-stopping role in the cult classic film Rocky Horror Picture Show, reportedly had a near-death experience on May 23 when he reportedly suffered a major stroke in his home. Thankfully, the actor survived the traumatic experience, and is recovering in Los Angeles.

Tim Curry Suffers A Major Stroke

The 67-year-old actor reportedly collapsed in his home after having the stroke. While the episode was serious, he is said to be doing well in recovery and his speech ability has not been impaired.

“Tim is doing great,” his agent Marcia Hurwitz told Mail Online. “He absolutely can speak and is recovering at this time and in great humor.”

Tim Curry’s Acting Legacy

Phew! It would be a real tragedy to lose Tim, who has left an indelible mark on the movie industry and pop culture in general. Playing the role of Dr. Frank N. Furter in the theatrical version of Rocky Horror Picture Show, Tim made the leap to the big screen for the musical’s film adaptation. His performance is one of main reasons that the movie became such an international cult classic.

Tim has carried several other movies with his vivaciousness and charisma – Clue and the horror movie It come to mind. And who could forget his role as the snooty hotel concierge in Home Alone 2?

Tim is unmarried and lives alone in Hollywood Hills, Calif.

Again, it’s a huge relief to hear that Tim is doing well after this scary moment. Our thoughts are with him and we hope he makes a full recovery!
