FX premiered its latest drama The Bridge on July 10, and the critics are eating it up! Based on a Danish/Swedish series, The Bridge follows an American detective (Diane Kruger) and a Mexican detective (Demián Bichir), who must work together to solve a series of gruesome murders spanning both countries. HollywoodLife.com‘s sister site TVLine hails The Bridge as “the best new drama of the summer,” but its far from the only site singing the show’s praises.

Reviews Of FX’s ‘The Bridge’

IGN

The Bridge has tapped into a potentially rich vein, dealing with a politically motivated murder on the border and some promising characters. But whether it can follow through remains to be seen — we've been burned by remakes before. For now the good outweighs the bad and I'll be watching, especially for the marvelous performance turned in by Demian Bichir.

Vulture

The Bridge is a grubby, oddly mournful tale of the relationship between haves and have-nots of the U.S. and Mexico. … You can feel a network's growing pains as you watch The Bridge, but growing pains are good. They're what you feel when you're evolving.

TV.com

There’s a lot that The Bridge did right in its first episode. The show’s setting is outstanding, its underlying themes and their relevance to real life are fascinating, and its characters are intriguing. The Bridge is definitely good, but I think it’s too early to call it great.
