Who doesn’t love a good teen drama — especially by the beach! The stars of the Sundance hit ‘The Spectacular Now’ attended a Hamptons screening of the film on July 26.
Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller, the stars of the critically-acclaimed drama The Spectacular Now, took a break from their busy schedules July 26 to attend a screening of their coming-of-age flick, hosted by The Cinema Society and Samsung at the Crow’s Nest in Montauk, N.Y.
‘The Spectacular Now’: A Perfectly Imperfect Summer Romance
This film isn’t your typical teenage, boy-meets-girl love story. It doesn’t just bask in the stereotypical high school romance; it’s immersed in raw, real, hormonal emotion. It reinforces the idea that there are only two kinds of people in this world: those who live in the now and those who look toward tomorrow.
For those who live in the now, that’s where you’ll find Sutter Keely (Miles). Sutter is that guy at the party, the one everyone can’t help but be drawn to. His easygoing, effortless charm is hard to ignore, even with his whiskey-drenched 7-11 cup always in hand. He seems to have it all — the hot girlfriend, popularity, and a job — until his girl (Brie Larson) dumps him because she wants more.
This turn of events leads him to meet Aimee Finicky (Shailene), who literally picks him up off the front lawn of a stranger’s house, after he passed out from an all-night binge. Aimee is the pleasant, uncorrupted smart girl who’s never been noticed by the likes of Sutter, until now.
Even though Aimee is the definition of a wallflower, Sutter finds himself drawn to her. She listens to him and unabashedly, selflessly falls for the flawed soul behind the party boy.
The chemistry between Shailene and Miles is undeniable. From their first kiss to their sex scene (oh yeah), it all feels awkwardly real. They have their ups and downs, but it’s all in the natural course of adolescent love.

This break-out Sundance hit garnered Shailene and Miles a Special Jury Prize for Dramatic Acting, which is no surprise, because they are both simply outstanding.
Shailene and Miles can be seen onscreen together again in the 2014 film Divergent, Only this time, they play enemies! Shailene will also star in the film adaptation of the best-selling novel The Fault in Our Stars in 2014, and Miles has two comedies – Two Night Stand and Get a Job – lined up for the rest of 2013.
At the screening, the stars and guests drank Activate enhanced water at the party.
