Candice Glover: How I Felt The Moment I Won 'American Idol' May 17th 2013, 13:26 On May 16, Candice became the newest ‘American Idol’, and she told HollywoodLife.com about how ‘amazing’ it felt to win. Candice Glover auditioned three times and beat off thousands of other contestants to win American Idol, and there has never been a more worthy winner! Speaking to HollywoodLife.com about the “amazing” moment when she won, Candice reveals that she was so sure that her rival Kree Harrison was going to be the winner! Candice Glover Talks About Winning ‘American Idol’ After Candice’s amazing winning moment, she told HollywoodLife.com how it felt to win American Idol after trying out three times: “I’m still trying to process it. I don’t even know my name! Oh my gosh! I don’t know what’s happening! It feels amazing though to finally have gotten to this point after working so hard for so long.” Candice is so cute! She is proof that determination and hard work are the key to success, and that is why she kept auditioning. “Well I actually have some friends that decided not to come back and stuff like that but I always knew for some reason that it would happen if I kept going. I even said at some point said you know, American Idol obviously doesn’t want me why would I go back? But I found myself on the website looking at the auditions again. Just being determined. I just couldn’t turn away because I knew that if I kept trying that it would happen.” While waiting for the announcement Candice kept saying Kree’s name, and she admitted that she was so sure that Ryan Seacrest was going announce her as the winner. “I was saying her name because I was just certain he was going to say the name so I was like “oh yeah, Kree, Kree, Kree” and she was like “no. Candice, Candice, Candace.” We are super supportive of each other and I know no matter what I’m going to be buying Kree’s album. I think the whole world will.” ‘American Idol’ Winner — Candice Glover Wins Season 12 Upon being crowned the winner, Candice said, "three years" as she tried to hold back tears, referencing how she tried out for season 9 and 11 before winning the current season. Justin Bieber & Selena Gomez date Night The hot couple were spotted partying together at LA’s Supperclub for DJ Tay James‘ birthday and they showed up holding hands! E! News is reporting that they showed up with security around 11:30 p.m. through a back entrance — swanky! Keep in mind these kids aren’t 21 yet but there are no reports of them drinking or doing anything illegal. An eyewitness tells E! News that they held hands and danced to her song “Come & Get It.” They ended up leaving around 12:15 a.m. after talking to the club’s manager — perhaps about being there underage? Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez, who are rumored to be rivals, both performed on the May 16 season finale of American Idol. J.Lo was given the prime spot of performing her new song “Live It Up” before the coronation of the season 12 champ, but Mariah didn’t seem enthused. While Randy Jackson, Nicki Minaj and Keith Urban jumped to their feet at the end of the song, Mariah continued sitting and instead, playfully toyed with a streamer. How rude! Mariah Carey Disses Jennifer Lopez Even though Mariah was given the opportunity to sing a medley of her own hits at the top of the finale, she seemed unamused by the positive response J.Lo received. The present and former judges do have a complicated history. It seems Mariah never got over the fact that her Sony Music Head ex-husband Tommy Mottola gave Jennifer material she’d wanted for her Glitter soundtrack after she left his label. In a way, Jennifer was picked by Tommy to be the next Mariah after their divorce. Their rift apparently still exists as Mariah reportedly demanded to be paid $2 million more than Jennifer to appear on Idol. Jennifer Lopez Performs 'Live It Up' While Pitbull joined Jennifer on stage and rapped, she gave a dance-heavy performance while sporting a skimpy white dress with knee-high boats. J.Lo's backup dancers performed cool acrobatics on swings lining the stage. J.Lo perfectly balanced seductive dance moves with singing the lyrics to the song, giving an overall great performance! We were absolutely shocked by the final scene on the season finale of Grey’s Anatomy on May 16. Lives were in jeopardy throughout the entire episode (as expected), but the potential death of a longtime series regular left us reeling. Grey’s Anatomy Death — Shonda Rhimes Tweets About Ending It appears that Richard Webber (James Pickens Jr.) may have died after coming in contact with water and electricity, after attempting to restore the hospital’s power from the basement. Shonda tweeted on May 16, “Man down,” following the Grey’s finale. Could this be confirmation that Richard, the former Chief of Seattle Grace Mercy West (now known as Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital), is a goner? Shonda Rhimes: ‘Be Worried’ About Richard “We’re definitely going to see some people in jeopardy. When we leave the season, we’re definitely going to be worried about one of our own. I don’t think that anything can match the brutality of last year’s finale for me. I just watched [the season 8 finale] again recently and was kind of surprised myself about the brutality of it. I don’t think we’re going to match that but for a lot of our characters, it’s a much more emotional.
