There were broken fingers and broken hearts as Desiree’s men dodged balls and lassoed hay bales for her love, while Kasey and Des enjoyed some not sexy pool time. Plus, one contestant got an unexpected visitor, and things really got dramatic.
So much drama went down on this week’s episode of The Bachelorette! The June 10 episode begins and Desiree Hartsock is knee deep in balls. Dodge balls that is! Another week, another ridiculous group challenge, and I can safely say this was the most dramatic episode of all time.
The Boys Play Dodgeball For Desiree’s Love
Is there better way to find your potential husband then by making them compete for love through a ridiculous sports challenge? No!
The boys begin by practicing with National Dodgeball team and its a bit of a bloodbath. Chris Harrison arrives, and you know things are serious when he is wearing plaid. There is some serious male bonding as the teams are drawn, and when they are made walk through the streets towards the arena, it is very reminiscent of The Hunger Games.
Thankfully, Desiree does not have to play, and she is able to sit on the sidelines and watch the carnage begin. The boys don ridiculously tight outfits — I do not need to see that much skin — and the game begins. Red team is Brooks, Mikey, Chris, Michael and Brandon. Blue team is Drew, Ben, Zack, Brad and Brian.
Disaster strikes when Brooks hurts his finger — Desiree is acting like he is actually injured but I think he is pulling a Tierra — and of course an ambulance shows up. This is The Bachelorette after all, and an ambulance is required at least four times per season. Love truly is a battlefield.
Things really get intense when there is only one game left and everything to play for. The blue team wins, but there are no hard feelings. However, Des is so nice that she invites everyone to the after party!
Brooks can’t make it because he broke his finger, so Des and the rest of the guys go for drinks on a rooftop. Brad totally bums her out by harping on about his son and his sad love life, while Chris takes Des to sit on the edge of the roof and it looks slightly terrifying. Brooks makes it back, and its so obvious that Des is super in to him. They make out and I call Brooks getting the rose because he is injured.
And I am wrong! Chris gets the rose and some make out time, and everyone else goes home. Boo.
The ever gentle and lovely Chris makes a call to Desiree that leaves her shocked.
BRIAN HAS A GIRLFRIEND!
Des arrives at the mansion sassy and ready to take Brian down, and she and his former Playboy bunny girlfriend Stephanie team up to confront him. You go girls! They could form the new Charlie’s Angels.
Stephanie gets mighty upset and Chris and Desiree act as mediators, while the other guys watch from the window. One thing is clear: Brian is a big fat liar. Stephanie calls Brian "a lying, cheating deceitful pig," and Des kicks his ass to curb.
Kasey Gets The One On One Date
Desiree picks Kasey for the only one on one date of the show, and thankfully Des puts all the Brian drama aside and gets ready to scale down a building. While dancing. Kasey wears some seriously questionable leggings, but dancing down the side of a building looks like a lot of fun. Thankfully Kasey leaves the hashtags at home.
Desiree’s date goes dramatically downhill when a strong wind picks up and blows away their table, and Des and Kasey think it is smart to jump into the pool. Really? They realize how freezing it is, and this date goes from bad to worse. After some not sexy pool kissing, Des gives shockingly gives Kasey a rose, even though they seem to have zero chemistry.
Guess it wasn’t a total dud, then.
Desiree’s Plays A Damsel In Distress For Second Group Date
Zak, Bryden, James, Juan and Dan arrive for a salon style date, and Des throws a guy off a balcony while dressed as a harlequin. Random.
They boys dress up as cowboys to learn stunts that are performed in The Lone Ranger, and I can’t decide if this is more or less ridiculous than playing dodgeball for love. The guys then fake fight for Desiree the damsel’s love, and while Dan’s pants ripped, Juan gets seriously violent and wins a badge and a private date for his effort. He also gets a kiss.
Des then joins the other boys at the campfire, and she and Bryden make out in a tree. Didn’t she do that with Sean Lowe? James gets some alone time with Des and gives her a sob story, and he wins the rose! She makes out with James too and only one question remains: how does Des not have mono by now?
Ben Gets Shady At The Pool Party
Instead of a rose ceremony, Des throws a pool party for the guys and Ben proves what a slippery snake he is by stealing Des away for a car journey. Mikey and Michael call him and his stupid vest out, and Ben tries to defend himself and it is clear that he is this season’s Tierra LiCausi.
Brandon the emotional baby spills more tears about his sad life, and thankfully Des has realized he is way too intense. He tries to kiss Des and it is painfully awkward.
The boys suit up for the rose ceremony and Brandon and Dan are eliminated. Thank god! Brandon looks shocked and confronts Des, but it had to be done. I’m proud of you Des.
I think this has been the most eventful episode ever!
What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Are you glad or sad Brandon went? Were you shocked that Brian had a girlfriend? Do you think Ben is a snake? Weigh in below!
