Moving into a new home can be daunting enough for one family — but Kody Brown and his four wives have to face this task not once, but four times! Kody and the gang have hit some speed bumps along the way, but it looks like they might achieve their goal of moving into their four new homes by Christmas!
In this week's episode of TLC’s Sister Wives, the multi-part family — headed by husband Kody Brown and wives Meri, 42, Janelle, 44, Christine, 41, and Robyn – is ready to resettle after putting the final touches on their new homes. As the wives go through the last walk-throughs of their homes to make sure there are no issues, they continue to strive to keep the family close, and most importantly, to keep their displaced children happy. ‘Sister Wives’ Moving To New Homes — RECAP: Plural Support
With 17 children running around, the Browns have to work hard to stay organized and function as a family. Kody says that his number one wish is for all of his children to identify as siblings, so in order to help, Christine decides the Browns should write a family mission statement.
Kody loves the idea, so the wives and children worked together to create rules and ideals to live up to, including to respect one another and be kind and prayerful. They all agree that the most important thing is for the family is to remain close, which has been a struggle ever since they moved to Las Vegas and were forced to live far apart from each other.
The Browns are thrilled to be moving into their new homes, and Christine even gave each child a Christmas gift to celebrate their commitment to one another! ”We’re getting back together again and it’s time to make a big investment on who we are, and who the children are, and who they decide to be,” she says.
The kids are finally spreading their wings and the family is joyously celebrating!
Janelle, Robyn And Christine Get The Keys To Their New Homes
Janelle was the first of the four wives to receive keys to her new home. This was especially good news for her older children, like Hunter, who miss the way things used to be. Janelle and Kody also celebrated by purchasing a new bed, which was very “heartwarming” for the two of them, but they better make it last — the bed will also serve as their joint birthday gift, Christmas gift and anniversary gift for the whole year!
Robyn, who always wanted a home of her own, was overjoyed to get her new keys, as was Christine, who is ready to start anew. Unfortunately for Meri, she and daughter Mariah are still in limbo, waiting for the day they can move into their new home.
Meri struggled with watching the other wives get excited about moving in, especially because it doesn’t look like her new home will be finished in time for Christmas. Meri had a hard time breaking the news to Mariah, whose only wish for Christmas was to be settled in her new home with her mother. Poor Meri! We hope she can move in soon, because it would be heartbreaking for her to be the only one without a real home at Christmas time.
‘Sister Wives’ Stick Together
Robyn was the first to get the keys to her new house, but just as the families were about to go see it for the first time, Christine got the call that her home was ready too. Robyn was really disappointed when the Browns went to Christine’s house first but, Robyn says, it is important to “look out for your sister wives as much as you wish they’d look out for you.”
This was probably just what Christine needed to hear, because she then said, “Being a sister wife is what I wanted more than anything. I learned that I wasn’t being a good one, it was a really good wakeup call. We have a beautiful family and it’s the most important thing and it would’ve been awful to give it up.”
It seems like moving into the new homes will really bring the Browns closer together.
While Kody says that having a plural marriage is a balancing act that requires sacrifices to nurture each relationship, the Browns wouldn’t have it any other way.
“There’s blessings that monogamous women will never understand,” says Robyn.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Do you think that moving will bring the Brown’s closer together?
