It was a sad night for the cast of ‘Glee’ who had to attend without their late co-star, Cory Monteith. However, they focused on celebrating his life with a special tribute after winning a Teen Choice Award.

Lea MicheleDarren Criss, and more Glee cast members gathered to show just how much of a family they are at the 2013 Teen Choice Awards on August 11, where they put on an emotional tribute for their late co-star, Cory Monteith when they won the award for Choice TV Show: Comedy.

‘Glee’ Cast Pays Tribute To Cory Monteith

It was bound to be an emotional night with the full cast of Glee in attendance Gibson Amphitheater. So, when the cast took the stage to accept their award, they dedicated to none other but Cory.

First, the full cast accepted the award, without Lea, while Kevin McHale, Amber Riley and Jenna Ushkowitz all dedicated it to their “brother,” Cory.

“We just want to say that, although we lost someone that we really loved, and that you all loved too, we’re very fortunate to come back to a show where we feel the love of family,” Amber said. “Cory was like a brother to us and like a dad. And he was always ready to sign an auto and take a pic with a fan. He loved you Gleeks & he loved his fans.”

“So, on behalf of our brother and her our cast-mate, Cory would want us to dedicate this to you guys, so our condolences to all of you as well, and we love you SO much — thank you guys,” Jenna added.

Then, directly after, Lea was honored with Choice TV Actress: Comedy. While she may have been crying through the speech, she looked absolutely stunning while thanking the fans:

Thank you guys. I just wanted to be here today to personally thank all of you and tell everyone out here how much all of your love and support as meant to me over these past few weeks. Not that I had any doubt before, but we certainly do have the greatest fans in the world. I want to dedicate this award to Cory. For all of you out there who loved Cory as much as I did — I promise you we'll get through this together. He was very special to me and also to the world, and we were very lucky to witness his incredible talent his handsome smile and his beautiful, beautiful heart. So whether you knew him personally or as Finn, he reached out and became a part of all of our hearts. So thank you guys so much.

Why Lea Michele Decided To Attend The TCAs

We told you first that Lea and her cast-mates were planning to source close to attend the Teen Choice Awards, after a source revealed exclusively to HollywoodLife.com, that a tribute was being planned by Lea and Ryan.

“It was Lea's choice that they skip the FOX summer party last week — it was just too soon for her — but she feels like she wants to do the Teen Choice Awards because it has a lot of personal meaning for her — but also for the fans. It's going to be really hard because she has so many memories there with Cory, but she thinks it's the right event to do. She's also talking about doing a tribute to Cory because he really loved that award show and it would be a good way for the cast and the fans to honor him. Things go up and down for Lea every day and everyone is making sure that she knows she can do whatever feels right for her, but right now Lea's plan is for her and the rest of the cast to attend.”

So, HollywoodLifers — what did you think of the tribute? We’re you getting emotional like we were?
