In a surprise move, the First Lady appeared at the Oscars to help Jack Nicholson present the Award for Best Picture. So cool!

Michelle Obama stunned the audience at the 85th Annual Academy Awards on Feb. 24, when she appeared via satellite to help Jack Nicholson present the award for Best Film to Ben Affleck for Argo. Michelle looked stunning in a silver gown, as she talked about the importance of the Oscars.

Michelle Obama: Oscars 2013

Michelle is proving what a cool and modern First Lady she is, as not only did she do some mom dancing with Jimmy Fallon, now she is showing up at the Academy Awards to present an award with Jack!

Michelle appeared from the White House in Washington DC, where she was surrounded by a group of military members. Michelle rocked her blunt bangs with an up do, and she wore a stunning silver dress with some HUGE diamond earrings!

Michelle and Jack took turns speaking about the award, and Michelle said that the Oscars encourage children to be ambitious and strive for their dreams. When it came to announcing the winner, Michelle took the honor! Ben was delighted with his first win of the night!

Ben was not the only person to take home a coveted golden trophy, as Jennifer Lawrence won Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook, Daniel Day Lewis won Best Actor for Lincoln, Anne Hathaway won Best Supporting Actress for Les Miserables and Christoph Waltz won Best Supporting Actor for Django Unchained.

Hollywood Life: Seth MacFarlane: Disses Make Him Great Oscar Host

Hollywood Life
Latest Hollywood Gossip, News & Celeb Pics
thumbnail Seth MacFarlane: Disses Make Him Great Oscar Host
Feb 25th 2013, 05:21

Seth MacFarlane did it! We won’t be grabbing our pitchforks & torches — he turned the 85th Oscars into the best in years.

Seth MacFarlane sang about Kristen Stewart‘s boobs, slammed Rihanna and Chris Brown, and even joked about Abraham Lincoln‘s assassination.

In other words, nothing was off limits for the Family Guy creator, 39.

Seth — thank you for taking no prisoners. You may have been totally offensive, but joking, John Wilkes Boothe really got inside Abraham Lincoln’s head.

And thanks to you, not being afraid to be offensive, but doing it multiple times, we now have our most entertaining Oscars in our memory.

It was full-on insanity that worked, when you had William Shatner has Captain James T. Kirk tap in to the future to warn you about what a disastrous job you were doing as host.

Your Biggest Mistake Of The Night

Your biggest misstep was singing about stars with the Gay Men’s Chorus of Los Angeles. It’s hilariously irreverent and while we were still reeling from you singing about Naomi Watt‘s boobs, you making out with Sally Fields wearing a men’s habit, and then orchestrating a Seth-puppet performance of Flight.

You called Ben Affleck a Kardashian sister with facial hair, asked the cast of Prometheus to explain “what the hell what was going on there,” and mocked Hollywood for being so Jewish.

Then you insulted half the country by dissing all of womenkind for “their innate ability to never ever let anything go.”

Jewish Hollywood wasn’t your only religious target. When Daniel Radcliffe and Kristen Stewart came out to present, you said: “a boy wizard and female vampire, but together they’re everything a Christian Right says is wrong with Hollywood.”

Why You Made It Work

You couldn’t have carried it off if you hadn’t been willing to poke major fun at yourself in saying that “you guys have made beautiful, inspirational movies… my movies have been urinated on in boxes outside of stores.”

Even that intensity started to get pulled back after you made fun of Christopher Plummer as Captain Von Trapp, and went into basic hosting duties. Nest year – don’t joke about how long the show is getting EVER, it only makes us feel like we are getting tired.

When an Oscar show is as good as this one, it doesn’t feel long.

Especially, when you close with singing, here’s to “losers and their fake smiles at the bar.” You and Kristin Chenoweth executed a perfect ending. And you proved you could go host-to-host with veteran Billy Crystal and not be a loser.

What do you think HollywoodLifers – did Seth MacFarlane do a great job? Vote!

Hollywood Life: 2013 Oscars Best Moments: Kristen Stewart, ‘Les Mis’ & More

Browse our gallery of Oscar show moments & vote for your favorite!

The 85th Academy Awards were long — like, painfully long — but with good reason: There were tons of huge moments for host Seth MacFarlane to pack into three hours.

Let’s start with the show-stopping numbers: From Catherine Zeta-Jones‘ electrifying rendition of “All That Jazz” to Jennifer Hudson‘s chilling performance of “And I Am Telling You I’m Not Going,” we were in musical heaven. And just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, the entire cast of Les Miserables — yup, even Russell Crowe —took to the stage for a performance of “One Day More.”

Speaking of Les Mis, the night was also full of huge wins! After a suspenseful awards season, Anne Hathaway finally took home her first Oscar for her role as prostitute-singer Fantine; and the Twitter-verse was thrilled when Argo won Best Picture, validating Ben Affleck once and for all. And then there was Adele, who was super-adorable as she accepted her award for Best Original Song.

And who could forget Kristen Stewart? Not only was she name checked during “We Saw Your Boobs,” but she also bravely stepped out on stage to present alongside Daniel Radcliffe. With a bum leg and a wicked cold, K-Stew easily could have backed out of her responsibilities — but she soldiered on, and for that, we salute her.

Other highlights included: Barbra Streisand making us weep like little babies with “The Way We Were”; Channing Tatum and Charlize Theron showing off their crazy dance skills; and, of course, Sally Field making out with Seth.

Hollywood’s A-list men showed up to the 85th Annual Academy Awards in their best suits and ties — and looked completely handsome while walking the red carpet! Take a look at our gallery of the sexiest men at the 2013 Oscars.

Tinseltown’s talented and gorgeous men arrived at the 2013 Academy Awards not only to celebrate the best in film — but also show off their impeccable sense of style! We loved the sharp black tuxes that were so common in Hollywood’s hunks, including Bradley Cooper and Channing Tatum. It’s a classic look that never disappoints — and the guys pulled it off with ease!

Channing, who arrived on the red carpet with his pregnant wife Jenna Dewan, showed off a more fitted look with an open jacket and buttoned-up vest. His sharp polished shoed pulled the look together, but it was him talking about his wife’s upcoming arrival that really made him look handsome.

Channing Tatum Reveals He’s Welcoming His Baby Overseas

“We’re gonna actually have the baby in London while I’m shooting so there will be no downtime whatsoever after that,” Channing revealed to Ryan Seacrest on the E! News red carpet.

Bradley Cooper Brings Mom Gloria Cooper As Oscars Date

Bradley, who was nominated for Best Actor for his role in Silver Lining’s Playbook, arrived on the red carpet with a very special date — his mom Gloria Cooper! “It’s very exciting to be here, this is my first time at the Oscars!” she told Ryan on the red carpet — how sweet! As if Bradley couldn’t get any more adorable.

We also loved the sharp looks on George Clooney, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Chris Pine! They all looked so handsome!

Hollywood Life: Jennifer Aniston’s Perfect Oscar Hair: Get Her Exact Look With Living Proof

Feb 25th 2013, 04:59

Presenter Jennifer Aniston was stunning at the 85th Annual Academy Awards — wearing her hair down, she looked carefree and flawless. Here’s how to get her exact look!

Jennifer Aniston is not only an amazing actress, she is a savvy business woman. Jennifer is a co-owner and spokesperson for Living Proof and the brand helped create her perfect hair look for the 2013 Oscars. Celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan spills his secrets for Jennifer’s hair below!

How To Get Jennifer Aniston’s Exact Hair

Chris spoke about the inspiration for Jennifer’s hair:

The key word is natural. She'll be one of the only people there who is able to actually touch her hair. Jen's Valentino gown was such a daring fashion choice, so we wanted her hair to make her feel comfortable. I created a look that would last the entire night, from the red carpet to when she presents.”

To get the look, follow these steps:

“First, I washed the hair with Living Proof Full Shampoo and Conditioner. I then applied Prime Style Extender to wet hair and massaged through for a lasting style, while still allowing the hair to have movement. Using a large round brush, I blew out the hair straight with a deep, side bang. Finally, I applied Hold Flexible Hairspray to the roots for height and lightly sprayed the rest of the hair,” Chris says.

Jennifer was stunning on the red carpet, wearing a strapless red Valentino gown.

Hollywood Life: Jennifer Lawrence Falls When Accepting Best Actress Oscar

Dec 5th 2001, 00:00

Jennifer won the Best Actress Oscar for her performance in ‘Silver Linings Playbook’ on Feb. 24 and she fell when she was walking up the stairs to accept the award.

Jennifer Lawrence fell on the most important day of her career and handled herself with total grace. The 22-year-old was walking up to get her Oscar at the 85th Annual Academy Awards and she fell! The entire audience gasped but she continued to smile and even made a joke about it during her speech!

Jennifer Falls When Accepting Her Oscar

The actress was walking up in her gorgeous white gown and she fell while walking up the stairs to the stage. When she finally got to the mic she joked and said “Don’t clap for me because you feel sorry for me because I fell.” She just smiled, giggled and kept going. Her speech was short and sweet — she is such a cool girl!

Jennifer Has A History Of Being Clumsy

We told you that Jennifer fell on Feb. 8 in London and lost one of her heels on the way to a pre BAFTA dinner. Then, her dress at the SAG Awards looked like it ripped. Jennifer actually talked about the incident to Piers Morgan: “My pants fell off!” she said. “Somebody trips me on the way, I remember that. I'm keepin' it together, keepin' it together … and then my pants fall off! Yep! Oh, god.”

Were you shocked to see Jennifer fall during the show? We felt awful for her but she definitely handled herself so well. This is just another example why she is Hollywood’s golden girl right now and deserved to win!

It’s Bella versus Katniss! Jennifer and Kristen bumped into each other at the 85th Academy Awards red carpet, and things did not look too friendly!

Jennifer Lawrence stunned the crowd on the red carpet in baby pink at the 85th Annual Academy Awards on Jan. 24, while Kristen Stewart wowed in white. When the two stars, both 22, met each other on the red carpet, things looked awkward! Read on for all the details!

Jennifer Lawrence & Kristen Stewart Meet On The Red Carpet

Jennifer and Kristen met on the red carpet, and while we don’t know what they said to each other, a picture says a million words! I imagine their conversation went like this:

Jennifer: So, Twilight is over. At least I still have two Hunger Games movies left to be released.

Kristen: Whatever, vampire movies are way cooler than movies about fighting to the death.

LOL! Just kidding. I’m sure Kristen was congratulating Jennifer on her Best Actress nomination for Silver Linings Playbook. Kristen and Jennifer should be friends because they have so much in common!

They both arrived solo to the awards, they both dated their British co-stars, they both auditioned for the role of Bella in Twilight, and they are both the stars of huge blockbuster franchises: The Hunger Games and Twilight.

Plus, both girls were left red faced when host Seth MacFarlane sang a song and did a dance about seeing actresses boobs, and both girls were mentioned!

What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Should Kristen & Jennifer be best friends?

For the first time in 36 years, Barbra performed on the Oscars stage on Feb. 24, singing ‘The Way We Were!’ It was simply beautiful and so touching.

In memoriam for Marvin Hamlisch, an American composer and conductor who passed away in 2012, Barbra Streisand made a triumphant return to the Oscars stage on Feb. 24, and sang their amazing song, “The Way We Were.”

Barbra performed “The Way We Were,” which won the Oscar for Best Original Song in 1974. The song was originally written for the movie by the same name, which she starred in with Robert Redford.

Celebrities Tweet Their Joy For Barbra’s Performance

Oprah Winfrey tweeted, “Barbara Streisand standing O for being classic elegance in every way.”

Barbra’s History With The Oscars
