ACM Awards Hosts Blake Shelton & Luke Bryan Were Phenomenal Apr 8th 2013, 04:02 They crooned, we swooned! Did you enjoy Blake & Luke’s hosting job as much as we did? Just when we thought we couldn’t love Blake Shelton any more — we’re big fans of The Voice here at HollywoodLife.com — the 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards proved us wrong. Blake and Luke Bryan were the perfect pair of hosts, whether they were taking funny jabs at each other, or just standing there and looking pretty. And is it any wonder why Luke won Entertainer of the Year? I mean, the guy deserved to win based on his hosting duties alone! (Blake may have mocked Luke’s tight jeans, but we’re pretty sure no one on our staff was complaining.) We also loved Blake’s banter with wife Miranda Lambert. Any other guy talking about seeing his wife naked would feel like an over-sharer, but for some reason, Blake sounded adorable when intro-ing Miranda. And she certainly didn’t seem to mind one bit. To be fair, this isn’t Blake’s first time at the rodeo. He co-hosted the ACMs with Reba McEntire — who previously hosted the awards solo for many years — for the past two years, but we think Luke made a better co-host than Reba. Nothing against the country queen; we just loved watching Blake and Luke’s bromance blossom right before our very eyes. Miranda Lambert Wins Big At ACMs — Takes Homes 3 Awards Apr 8th 2013, 03:14 April 7 was quite the night for Miranda Lambert as she took home two Academy of Country Music Awards for the emotional ballad ‘Over You,’ which she co-wrote with her husband Blake Shelton, before taking home and award for Female Vocalist of the Year! The ACM Awards brought out the most talented women in country, but Miranda Lambert seemed to be the queen of the night. Taking home Single Record of the Year and Song of the Year for “Over You,” Miranda’s hubby and co-host of the show Blake Shelton couldn’t have been more proud! Miranda Lambert Wins Big With Emotional Hit “Over You” is the most heartfelt song by Miranda Lambert. It is very important to Blake as well. The Voice judge co-wrote the song about his brother, who passed away when he was a teenager, but could not sing it himself. Because of that, he helped his wife make it a hit. And, a hit it is! First, Miranda took home an award for Song of the Year, which she accepted with Blake after embracing in an adorable hug backstage. Then, she looked shocked when winning again — this time for Song of the Year. When accepting the first award, Blake did all the talking. ”Oh this is awesome you guys. Thank you so much!" Miranda said before Blake took the wheel. “Last time this happened you didn't get a chance to talk and you're not going to get chance this time either,”  he laughed. “I've learned so much from this human being standing next to me. She blows me away . . . I used to think I was a decent songwriter until I was hanging around with her and this is proof of it. Thank you so much baby, I love you." Aww! So sweet. Miranda Lambert Takes Home A Second Award However, Miranda got a chance to say her thanks when she won for Single Record of the Year. “I didn't know what to say about Song of the Year because my husband was about to make me bawl and I was trying to keep it together,” she said. ”As a songwriter, having your song and your lyrics recognized by your peers is pretty much as good as it gets,” Miranda told the crowd after being handed two trophies for her and her hubby. “And I’m so thankful for being in this genre of country music, every single time someone’s nominated, I just cheer, because I love everybody to death. So thank you for accepting me as a song writer, not just as a singer, because that means the world to me.” Miranda Beats Out Taylor Swift & Carrie Underwood Miranda was then completely shocked when she received an award for Female Vocalist of the Year — beating Carrie Underwood and Taylor Swift! “I for sure thought Carrie had it this year, and she damn well deserved it,” Miranda said before beginning to cry. “Last night, a huge dream of mine came true. I went from being a little girl singing in a hairbrush to watching Shania Twain with Faith Hill, Reba McIntyre, and Kelly Clarkson. And I cried all night because I’ll never not be a fan of those women. ACM Awards Best Moments: Luke Bryan Wins Entertainer Of The Year & More Apr 8th 2013, 03:01 The biggest night in country music, the Academy of Country Music Awards on April 7, brought plenty of awesome moments and performances — browse through our gallery and see our favorites! The 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards lit up the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on April 7, and there were so many memorable moments! From Taylor Swift singing alongside Keith Urban and Tim McGraw to Carrie Underwood belting out her new smash hit “Two Black Cadillacs,“ we loved seeing all of our favorite country music stars! Academy Of Country Music Awards Best Moments The ACMs started with a few jokes from hosts Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton. The highlight of their opening monologue included several jokes about each other’s manhood, which was a bit uncomfortable, but definitely comical. Carrie Underwood even covered her mother’s ears during the X-rated jabs! Taylor Swift managed to come out of the opening monologue unscathed this time around. If you remember, she was publicly dissed at the Golden Globe Awards when Tina Fey and Amy Poehler warned her to stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son because of her poor dating history. Electrifying Performances Not only did Taylor perform with Keith and Tim, but Carrie and Kelly Clarkson rocked the stage as well, reminding us why American Idol is the best signing competition show on TV — ever! Emotional Wins Blake and wife Miranda Lambert accepted the award for Best Song of the year with their track “Over You.” It was by far the cutest moment of the night. Blake admitted how Miranda taught him so much about songwriting — she nearly cried. 'Mad Men' Premiere Recap: Don Draper Slips Back Into Bad Habits Apr 8th 2013, 03:00 Pour yourself a glass of whiskey and light up a cigar because ‘Mad Men’ is back! On April 7 the sixth season premiered, and fans saw Betty’s human side, Don face his old demons and Peggy’s sassy new attitude. Mad Men‘s sixth season debuted on April 7, and what an episode it was! The 70′s have arrived — or at least its sideburns and mustaches have — for the men of Madison avenue, and Don (Jon Hamm) is still ruling the roost at Sterling Cooper Draper Price, which now has its second floor. The episode begins in Hawaii where Don and Megan (Jessica Pare) are vacationing, and things have definitely changed in their marriage… Don Draper: Cheating On His Wife Again Don and Megan are still married, but happily? We are not sure. When they vacation in Hawaii, they have a lot of sexy time in their huge hotel room, but it’s clear that Megan’s new success in her acting career — she has been cast in a soap opera it appears — has gone to her head. When she and Don host a soiree in the middle of a snow storm on New Years Eve, Don helps his surgeon friend get to the hospital on a pair of skis — a man who is clearly committed to his job — and while he is gone, Don SLEEPS WITH HIS WIFE! So sad — it really seemed like Don was going to give up his womanizing when he married Megan, but alas it was not mean to be. When his sexy new squeeze asks him what his new year’s resolution is, he said poignantly “to not do this.” Betty Shows Her Human Side & Bad Sense Of Humor Betty Francis (January Jones) wash your mouth out with soap! Don’s former wife still lives a semi contented life upstate with their three children and her new husband Henry, but she has developed a sick sense of humor. She jokes about letting her husband chloroform and rape her daughter Sally’s (Kiernan Shipka) friend, but when Sally’s friend runs away to the city, Betty perseveres in finding her. Peggy Pushes People In Her New Job Peggy (Elizabeth Moss), the ultimate feminist, has become mean! Props to Peggy — she is making bigger waves than any  other women in 1960′s/70′s New York, but her powerful authority in her new job has made her most sassy. She sure has come a long way since her start as Don’s secretary! Peggy works hard in her agency — and works on New Years Eve — but is she happy? Roger Breaks Down Roger Sterling (John Slattery) suffers an emotional break down. He keeps it together when his 91-year-old mother dies — even when Don vomits at her funeral — but when his shoe cleaner dies, he goes into his office and cries like a baby. Poor Roger. The premiere certainly shocked me and left me with many questions, but I am excited for this season. Plus, I want to see more of Joan (Christina Hendricks) and Pete (Vincent Kartheiser)! 'Celebrity Apprentice' Recap: Melania Trump Gets [Spoiler] Fired Apr 8th 2013, 03:00 This week, the celebs learned the most important lesson of all: Don’t cross the wife! Donald Trump has kept his contestants shaking in their boardroom seats all season on The All-Star Celebrity Apprentice, but on the April 7 episode, the remaining competitors came face-to-face with a far more intimidating presence: The Donald’s wife, Melania Trump! Both teams — led by Penn Jillette and Dennis Rodman, respectively — had to whip up a marketing plan for Melania’s line of beauty products, but the individual presentations ended up being anything but beautiful. Gary Busey went on a crazy rant about caviar, at which point Stephen Baldwin said he was praying to the “Gary Busey Angels” to tie his tongue — but that was nothing compared to Dennis’ team’s debacle. They may have said all the right words, but she had no idea they misspelled Melania’s name on their poster! “I cannot believe they spelled my name wrong,” Melania said. “It’s all over the place, and nobody noticed? It’s amazing.” Brandee Roderick’s Boardroom Bus-Throwing Without even listening to what Melania did/didn’t like about each team’s presentations, the Donald deemed Dennis’ team the loser for misspelling his wife’s name. (Duh!) When asked which of his teammates was responsible for the flub, Dennis refused to throw any one person under the bus. Brandee Roderick, however, was quick to point out that Trace Adkins was responsible for the advertorial. Dennis Rodman Vs. Trade Adkins For the first time this season, only two people returned to the boardroom: Dennis and Trace, and because Dennis was the project manager, he was the one to go. Kelly Clarkson Serenades Audience With Her Sexy ACM Performance Apr 8th 2013, 02:49 Kelly took to the stage at the American Country Awards on April 7, and she gave a stunning and sexy performance of ‘Don’t Rush.’ Kelly Clarkson killed it at the 48th annual Academy of Country Music Awards on April 7! Singing “Don’t Rush,” Kelly, 30, made sweet, sweet music for the crowd at the Las Vegas stadium, and needless to say she made the whole room feel very romantic with her performance of the sexy song! Kelly Clarkson Performs ‘Don’t Rush’ At The ACM Awards Kelly took to the stage in a knee length teal dress and shiny hair, and she serenaded the audience with the romantic song. Kelly has suffered some harsh criticism earlier this year, as she was dissed by music mogul Clive Davis. This amazing performance was the perfect way for Kelly to shut up all her haters! Kelly Clarkson Calls Out Clive Davis For Dissing Her Kelly wrote an open letter to Clive after the music mogul dissed her in February. So I just heard Clive Davis is releasing a memoir and spreading false information about me and my music. I refuse to be bullied and I just have to clear up his memory lapses and misinformation for myself and for my fans. It feels like a violation. Growing up is awesome because you learn you don't have to cower to anyone – even Clive Davis. First, he says I burst into "hysterical sobbing" in his office when he demanded Since You Been Gone be on my album. Not true at all. His stories and songs are mixed up. I did want more guitars added to the original demo and Clive did not. Max, Luke and I still fought for the bigger sound and we prevailed and I couldn't be more proud of the life of that song. I resent him dampening that song in any way. But, yes, I did cry in his office once. I cried after I played him a song I had written about my life called "Because Of You." I cried because he hated it and told me verbatim that I was a "sh*tty writer who should be grateful for the gifts that he bestows upon me." He continued on about how the song didn't rhyme and how I should just shut up and sing. This was devastating coming from a man who I, as a young girl, considered a musical hero and was so honored to work with. But I continued to fight for the song and the label relented. And it became a worldwide hit. He didn't include that in the book. He also goes on to say My December wasn't successful because I co-penned the album and it didn't have "pop hits". Well, first let me say, I've co-penned many of my "pop hits." Secondly, My December went platinum (It sold 20,000 less than All I Ever Wanted which followed My December.) Hardly a huge failure. Never Again, the ONLY single they released in the US from that record was a Top 10 hit. I am very proud of that and I have my fans to thank. But, again, what's most interesting about his story is what he leaves out: He doesn't mention how he stood up in front of his company at a convention and belittled me and my music and completely sabotaged the entire project. It never had a chance to reach it's full potential. My December was an album I needed to make for myself for many reasons and the fact that I was so completely disregarded and disrespected was so disheartening, there really aren't words to explain…. Anyway, I love my job. I love my music. I love my fans. I love my label and all of my professional relationships… now. And I am grateful for Clive for teaching me to know the difference. Singing ‘Beat This Summer,’ this is the first time since John has performed following his throat surgery in August 2012. So great! The 48th annual Academy of Country Music Awards on April 7 showcased many wonderful performances, including John Mayer‘s first live performance in over one year! John took to the stage in Las Vegas with Brad Paisley to sing “Beat This Summer,” and he gave a stellar performance considering he can barely sing! John Mayer Performs xxx At The ACM Awards John, 35, and Brad took to the stage to perform Brad’s new hit “Beat This Summer,” and they both rocked out with electric guitars! Brad did the majority of the vocal work, since John has been suffering from throat issues for over a year, caused by his love of whiskey! John has suffered from voice issues throughout his career, and this time last year he was forced to cancel his Born & Raised tour, and he had surgery in August 2012. It’s clear that he back and better than ever now! John Mayer Tells Ellen DeGeneres Why His Voice Was Ruined Part was "over use and singing and singing and singing," John told Ellen DeGeneres in May 2012. And then there was "what you put into your body … it didn't help that I really loved, loved, loved scotch. It's just like applying poison to your body. It's like applying a shellac of poison. Taylor wore a cute black and tan dress, while Keith revved up his electric guitar! Taylor’s performances — like at the BRIT Awards and the Grammy Awards — are usually so high octane and energetic, so it was nice to see her take a slightly slower pace. 'RHOA' Reunion Part 1 Recap: Porsha Stewart Defends Kordell Apr 8th 2013, 02:19 While there are still two more parts of ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta’ reunion to come, the first hour was full of drama — beginning with Porsha defending her then-husband Kordell. Real Housewives of Atlanta star Porsha Stewart must have felt strange watching the April 7 reunion; she stood up for Kordell Stewart, and he filed for divorce just days after it was filmed! Porsha Stewart: ‘My Husband Is Always Going To Defend His Wife’ Well, that’s awkward. On the reunion, when host Andy Cohen told Porsha how cool her husband was for standing up for her at the big party Kenya Moore had thrown, Porsha seemed so proud of her man. “My husband is always gonna defend his wife,” Porsha said. It seemed like she had no idea that in the not-too-distant future, Kordell would be calling it off with her, filing for divorce. She also said Kordell didn’t “touch anyone” at that party, where he was seen almost fighting with Kenya’s assistant Brandon. But that wasn’t the only drama of the night. Kenya Vs. Phaedra: Who Made The Better Workout Video? Andy received questions from fans who wanted to get all the dirt on what went down this season, and most of the questions revolved around Kenya and Phaedra Parks, who have both released workout videos. Andy said that after a reveiw from Entertainment Weekly, Phaedra’s workout video was more entertaining than Kenya’s, which apparently is one of the harshest comments possible. “All she can talk about is her booty,” Kenya said, defending herself. “She’s obviously overweight to be doing a video.” “Oh, really, you’re a doctor now?” Phaedra fired back. This went on for a while, and included the women calling each other “fake.” “Everything on me is real, unlike you,” Phaedra told Kenya, who responded with, “You know what’s real on me is my heart!” Kenya Moore:  ’Call Me Silicone Barbie’ While the questions kept coming from Andy, the girls didn’t let anyone else get a word in! “Call me Silicone Barbie because I will be Barbie all day long,” Kenya told Phaedra after she began listing the fake things on her. “Nothing’s original about you, darling.” Andy then explained Kenya released a new video, making fun of Phaedra’s wacky fishnet outfit. Carrie Underwood swapped her floral strapless Naeem Khan gown for a sexier dress when she took to the stage at the 48th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Apr. 7. In a black silk dress with a Chantilly lace illusion neckline and hemline, Carrie looked sweet and sexy in the frock from THEIA’s Fall 2013 collection. Carrie Underwood ACM Awards Performance Dress: The dress allowed the 30-year-old star to flaunt her toned legs while the fit-and-flare silhouette was so consistent with Carrie’s personal sense of style. I like how she opted for a sexier get-up yet didn’t opt for something too over-the-top. Black gloves added to the edgy vibe of the ensemble, while Carrie’s tresses cascaded down one side in waves. Although her curls were pinned up on the red carpet, the star literally let her hair down for her performance. Long, lush lashes added to the glam vibe of Carrie’s get-up. Carrie’s stage look was all about flaunting her sultry side while her red carpet ensemble gave off a sweet and chic vibe. 'KKTM' Finale: Kim Kardashian Tells Kourtney & Khloe She's Pregnant — Watch Apr 8th 2013, 02:09 During the season finale of ‘Kourtney & Kim Take Miami,’ Kim calls Kourtney with horrible stomach pains, and begs to be driven to the hospital. On the way to the emergency room, Kim finally tells Kourtney that she’s having Kanye West’s baby! Kim Kardashian can’t keep it a secret anymore! During the April 7 episode of Kourtney & Kim Take Miami finale, Kim breaks down and tells Kourtney Kardashian and Khloe Kardashian that she’s got a bun in the oven.  Kim Tells Kourtney & Khloe She’s Pregnant Kourtney kicks Kim out for hiring a private investigator to follow Scott Disick. But one night while she’s living with Jonathan Cheban, Kim calls Kourtney and begs her to drive her to the hospital.
