With the reality star’s funeral approaching, many wondered whether ‘Buckwild’ producers would turn a tragic day into a television plot point. But the show’s production company has spoken out strongly, saying they would NEVER think of doing such an insensitive thing.
The producers of the MTV show Buckwild are doing the right thing and staying out of Shain Gandee’s funeral proceedings on Apr. 7.
Shain Gandee’s Funeral: Not For Television
J.P. Williams, the CEO of Parallel Entertainment — one of the companies that produces the show — said they would never film Shain’s funeral “in a million years,” according to TMZ. The production team has too much respect for Shain and his family and friends to dishonor them like that.
Parallel Entertainment went even further to show their respect. Along with Zoo Productions, Parallel vowed to cover the cost of the funeral. "Shain was a great kid with a big heart who had endless love for his mom and dad," J.P. told TMZ. "I am from West Virginia and this show reminded me of how I grew up."
Shain Gandee Remembered At Funeral
With the help of the production companies, Shain’s funeral was set to be an intimate ceremony in remembrance of the 21-year-old at an auditorium in Shain’s hometown. Attendees were encouraged to wear camouflage in honor of Shain.
We’re glad that J.P. and the people of Zoo Productions had the good sense about them to not only keep their cameras away from Shain’s funeral, but to actually make sure it could be a proper ceremony through their donations.
Their actions are just further evidence of how much Shain Gandee will be missed.
