Is William’s childhood nanny coming out of retirement to care for the royal baby? Kate reportedly has asked her for a helping hand!
Despite prior reports claiming that Kate Middleton and Prince William would not be seeking any outside help to raise their new baby boy, Prince George, they may be in the market for a nanny after all! But only one in particular.
Kate Middleton & Prince William Seek Out Childhood Nanny For Prince George
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have reportedly asked Jessica Webb, William’s 71-year-old childhood nanny, to come out of retirement to help take care of Prince George, according to the Sunday People.
Jessica cared for both William and Prince Harry, and the boys have reportedly stayed very close to her even as they’ve grown up. She was a guest at William’s 21st birthday and was also in attendance for William and Kate’s marriage two years ago.
“Jessie would be ideal,” a royal courtier told the Sunday People. “Everyone likes her. She’s discreet and of an age when she’s not going to have her picture in the paper every five minutes.”
Jessica is reportedly keen to help because she remembers her years with William fondly, but she still isn’t sure about taking on a full-time job.
Kate Middleton & Prince William Reconsider Hiring A Nanny
As recently as August 1, the royal couple hadn’t yet made plans to hire a nanny. “The couple have no nanny, nor do they have plans to hire one for some time,” a source told Us Weekly. The source insisted that William and Kate were “doing as much as they can by themselves.”
But they may have realized that that was never going to be a realistic solution. William and Kate still fervently want to be primarily in charge of raising Prince George, but a source close to the family says “they both accept the view that they won’t be able to do it all,” according to the Sunday People.
Well if they’re going to seek help, someone close to the family who has intimate knowledge of William, like Jessica, seems to be the best choice. And just look how well William and Harry turned out!
