Tim Tebow Signed To The New England Patriots — Sources Jun 10th 2013, 22:53 The world’s favorite bench player may have FINALLY found an NFL home on June 10, reportedly inking a deal with the New England Patriots. So will he actually get more playing time this year? After an extremely boring, disappointing season with the New York Jets in 2012, and amidst legitimate questions whether he would even play in the NFL this season, Tim Tebow reportedly agreed to a deal with the New England Patriots on June 10. Tim Tebow Signs Contract With The New England Patriots The Patriots are reportedly set to sign Tim and he is expected to be present for the team’s mandatory minicamp training tomorrow on June 11, according to ESPN. The deal would reunite Tim with offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels, who was the coach who drafted Tim in 2010. Josh’s admiration of Tim must have rubbed off on Patriots’ head coach Bill Belichick, who has spoken about Tim’s versatility and character as a football player. Though Tim’s primary position is quarterback, it’s likely that he won’t see any playing time behind center — the Patriots already have future Hall of Famer Tom Brady on the roster. More likely, Tim will be used in special packages and possibly utilized as a running back. Tim Tebow With The Patriots: A Huge Upgrade Either way, Tim must be thrilled about this impending deal. For most of football’s offseason it appeared that Tim would not get picked up by an NFL team, and would have to consider playing in Canada’s professional league. Additionally, the Patriots are year-in, year-out one of the best teams in the NFL, and are a definite upgrade from the dysfunctional circus he was a part of on the Jets in 2012. Lastly, if he wants to improve as a quarterback, there’s no one better to learn from than Tom Brady. There’s never a dull moment with Tim, so we’re excited to see what happens this year!
