Six months after proposing to Miranda Patterson, Teen Mom 2 dad Corey Simms got married for the second time on June 7. This time around though, things weren’t so formal — Miranda donned a traditional white dress, but Corey wore a plaid shirt and jeans!
Corey Simms Casually Gets Hitched
Corey got some backlash for his extremely casual attire, but his dad, Jeff Simms, came to his defense on Twitter.
“Lot of comments about Corey ‘showing up’ to his wedding in jeans. He and Miranda planned every aspect of the ceremony, this was their day,” he tweeted. “Miranda loves him no matter what he wears, he looked great! She wore cowboy boots and rocked it. So happy for them! #newlyweds.”
As strange as it might seem for a groom to wear jeans to his own wedding, there was definitely a down-home feeling to the wedding, so Corey didn’t really look too out of place! His plaid shirt matched perfectly with the white and yellow country theme, and Miranda looked gorgeous in a classic white gown.
Leah Messer-Calvert Was Nowhere In Sight
Upon the arrival of Corey’s wedding, there was speculation as to whether or not Corey’s ex-wife Leah Messer-Calvert would make an appearance. Just as HollywoodLife.com found out EXCLUSIVELY from a source, she was not in attendance. In fact, she was getting ready to go to Las Vegas with hubby Jeremy Calvert for a weekend getaway!
While she and Jeremy were in Las Vegas, Leah and Corey’s twin daughters, Ali and Aleeah, 3, were flower girls in Corey’s ceremony. How cute!
Corey Simms And Family Use Twitter To Express Wedding Joy
It was evident the Twittersphere that both Corey and Miranda couldn’t wait to exchange vows the day of their nuptials.
“Today in just a few hours,@CoreySimms2 and I will be joined in marriage. Happiest and most blessed day of my life. I love you handsome :),” Miranda tweeted the morning of the wedding.
Corey responded with “can’t wait to see your pretty self in a few hours.”
Jeff also used Twitter to express his adoration for Corey’s new wife.
“My new daughter in law is an absolute joy! We are blessed to have her in our family!”
