Read on for more details. Country legend Randy Travis was released from Baylor Heart Hospital in Texas and transferred to a physical therapy facility on July 31. Randy Travis Out Of Hospital — Country Singer Released, Off To Physical Therapy It’s unclear how long Randy will have to undergo physical therapy, according to TMZ, but this is a great step forward for the singer, whose fans will no doubt be happy to hear some good news for a change. Randy, 54, was first admitted to the hospital on July 7, after suffering from complications stemming from viral cardiomyopathy. Viral cardiomyopathy is a weakening of the heart muscles that interferes with the heart's ability to pump blood with sufficient force, according to Johns Hopkins. Randy Travis Hospitalized For Complications From Heart Condition The singer’s health was said to be improving — until he suffered a terrible setback in his recovery when he had a stroke on July 10. Randy was forced to immediately undergo surgery to relieve pressure on his brain. “As a complication of his congestive heart failure, Mr. Randy Travis has suffered a stroke and is currently undergoing surgery to relieve pressure on his brain,” a statement from Randy’s rep said on July 10. ”He is in critical condition.
