Ian Somerhalder Loses His Ticket To The Presidential Inauguration Jan 21st 2013, 17:48 Poor Ian! The ‘Vampire Diaries’ star tweeted sad, yet adorable, pics of himself Jan. 21 outside President Barack Obama’s second inauguration ceremony. Ian Somerhalder may look perfect, but as it turns out, he’s still human — and prone to making human mistakes. Ian, 34, was pumped to attend the 57th Presidential Inauguration on Jan. 21, but his White House dreams were crushed when he realized he lost his ticket to the big event! “Ahh! Who lost his ticket w/ great seats to the Presidential Inauguration while grabbing food?” the Vampire Diaries star tweeted to his 3.25 million followers. “THIS GUY! WTF?! BUMMMMER…” If ever there was a day when Damon’s powers of compulsion would come in handy, it would definitely be today, as Ian tweeted about the “walls of impenetrable security” he was facing. “Breakfast alone in DC sans inauguration ticket,” he later tweeted. “Time to get caught up on emails and tweets i guess-Meetings later to prepare for…” Ian Somerhalder’s History With President Barack Obama Ian may have missed out on seeing the inauguration up close, but fortunately, he’s come face to face with President Barack Obama before. The two spoke for the first time in Nov. 2012, a meeting of the minds Ian will never forget. “It was a pretty surreal experience,” Ian told Zap2it. “I’d just flown in to LA from South America the night before, and I was leaving at noon again to go to Asia. Bones' David Boreanaz Teases 'Tense' Times for Booth/Brennan, 'Very Shocking' End to Season 8 Jan 21st 2013, 17:39 Embedded within the announcement of Bones‘ early Season 9 renewal was the news that David Boreanaz — who last summer (playfully?) hinted at restlessness via Twitter — had re-upped with the Fox drama. But what sort of storyline twists compelled the actor to stay on? “My contract was up [after Season 8], so I had opportunities to go into some new areas,” Boreanaz told TVLine at Fox’s winter TCA press tour party. “But [the producers and I] came together and found a happy medium. We sat and talked hard about the character development, and I’m excited.” Asked to elaborate on the potential character development that sparked his interest, Boreanaz noted, “We’ve never really focused on the hardcore truth of what Booth goes through on an everyday basis, just as far as being a [former] soldier and the pain he endures.” To that end, the actor ventured, “His health problems may come to fruition…. There might be a traumatic experience that he’s got to deal with personally…. Maybe we’ll see more of that kind of stuff.” As for Booth as he relates to lady love/baby momma Brennan, Boreanaz previewed, “There’s always romantic moments between me and her.” However: “I think that they’ll be a little tense, they'll be a little tested” as Season 8 continues on. “The interesting part about their relationship right now is that everyone seems to think, ‘Oh, they have a baby and it’s going to be calm.’ Well, I think it’s just the opposite.” And why is that? He hedged. “You’ll have to wait and find out.” Boreanaz had nothing new to report on the oft buzzed-about introduction of Booth’s mom, but did offer a semi-ominous tease for the back half of Season 8 and even next fall. “Things are going to be a little interesting at the end of this season, and how we go into the next season,” he shared. “I think it’s going to be very shocking and fun. Beyonce Performs At The 2013 Presidential Inauguration Jan 21st 2013, 17:40 The superstar stunned the crowd as she performed the National Anthem at President Barack Obama’s second inauguration on Jan. 21 in Washington, D.C. Beyonce, 31, has been a long time supporter of President Barack Obama and she made her allegiance known one again as she performed at the 2013 Presidential Inauguration. With husband Jay-Z in the audience, Beyonce belted out “The Star Spangled Banner” and sounded amazing! Beyonce was accompanied by the United States Marine Band as she proudly sang the National Anthem. Beyonce Sings ‘The Star Spangled Banner’ Beyonce took to the stage in a black dress and emerald earrings, and serenaded the vast audience with her melodious voice, while the President looked proudly on. She performed shortly after Kelly Clarkson, and she smiled broadly throughout the momentous occasion. She greeted President Obama with a hug and a kiss afterwards as her performance was met with load applause. She totally hit it out of the ball park! This is not the first time Beyonce has sang for President Obama and his wife Michelle, as she performed “At Last” at his 2009 Inauguration ball when he and Michelle had their first dance as President and First Lady. Beyonce’s was one of three important performances at the inauguration, as Kelly sang “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” immediately after President Obama delivered his inaugural address, while James Taylor sang “America the Beautiful.” Beyonce Will Perform At The 2013 Super Bowl This is not the only exciting performance for Beyonce this year, as she will perform at the 2013 Super Bowl XLVIII Halftime Show, on Feb. 3. with her old band Destiny’s Child! James Franco is regretting his decision to mock Justin Bieber. The actor and his Spring Breakers co-star Ashley Benson, parodied Justin’s hit song “Boyfriend” on Jan. 8 and he tells E! that it wasn’t long before he got a lot of heat from some higher-ups to delete it. James’ Apology To Justin James posted the video of himself dressed as Justin, lip syncing to “Boyfriend.” He put the video on his WhoSay account and even though many of James’ fans enjoyed the video, the actor quickly took the video down. James sat down with E! at the Sundance Film Festival to explain why he deleted the video and that he didn’t mean to upset Justin. “I was asked to take it down by some people,” James says. “Bieber didn’t contact me, but I don’t think he was too happy. I wasn’t trying to diss him.” Selena Mocks Justin Too Justin’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez posted a video of herself on Dec. 13, singing along to her bestie Taylor Swift‘s hit single “I Knew You Were Trouble” and many fans felt like this was a message and diss to Justin. Why? Because Justin allegedly cheated on Selena with Victoria’s Secret model Barbara Palvin. At the end of Selena’s video, she says: “You'd think that we'd know better but …” Wow, now this definitely seems like a diss! Even more recently, Selena performed at the UNICEF charity concert on Jan. 19 and sang two cover songs: Justin Timberlake‘s “Cry Me A River” and Taylor’s “I Knew You Were Trouble.” Both are break up songs, and it leaves many wondering if this is Selena’s way of getting over Justin. Michelle Obama's Navy Inaugural Coat Is A Fashion Miss Jan 21st 2013, 17:42 Michelle Obama is a true fashion trendsetter and icon but her gray Thom Browne coat is too dully colored for this Inauguration Day. Let me be clear, I usually love everything Michelle Obama wears — but not her Thom Browne coat this inauguration day. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with the coat’s style. It’s sophisticated, stylish, sleek and I love the fitted form on top, with neat, narrow sleeves and a flared A-line style over the First Lady’s hips. My one criticism is the color of the checked custom-made, gray coat, which apparently is worn with a matching dress beneath it. It’s simply too dull. It will match the color of the pavement that the First Family will walk on the National Mall, and it matches the dull gray sky of the day. First Lady Style Speaks Volumes I really would have hoped Michelle would wear a bright color like she did at President Obama’s first inauguration in 2009. I loved her chartreuse Isabel Toledo mohair coat and matching dress then. It was inspired and its’ brilliant color gave a message of hope to the nation, which was in the first months of the terrifying and deep Great Recession. Now, we could still use that fashion message of hope. A bright outfit speaks of bright hopes for the nation’s next four years. And that message goes beyond simple, great style. Michelle Obama: Following In The Footsteps of Jackie O Michelle has always worn bright colors so beautifully — purple, green, blue and red. So I’m not sure why she went with gray today. Nevertheless, I give her top kudos for her pretty J Crew purple gloves which perk up her coat, and those knee-high suede, low-heeled boots by American designer Reed Krakoff are so chic, millions of women are going to want them. There’s no doubt that Michelle Obama is the First Lady style torch-bearer, carrying on from former First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, but her outfits can set a tone just as much as her husband’s speech.
