The Kardashians were the latest victims of a ‘swatting’ prank on Jan. 18. Plus, Kim panics on Twitter after 15 SWAT team members and 3 helicopters surround Bruce and Kris Jenner’s home.
15 SWAT team members were sent to Bruce and Kris Jenner’s home on Friday Jan. 18, after an unidentified caller claimed a shooting had taken place at the mansion, as part of an elaborate prank known as “swatting.”
Kim Kardashian dramatically tweeted on Jan. 18, “Just got a call from my mom telling me about this prank call that someone was shot in their home & 15 swat team & 3 helicopters showed up!”
“These prank calls are NOT funny! People can get arrested for this! I hope they find out who is behind this. Its dangerous & not a joke!”
While Kim found the prank to be disturbing, sisters Kylie and Kendall Jenner found the humor in the situation, as did Bruce, who posed for an Instagram photo with all of the police officers.
Kylie tweeted, “my neighbors officially think I’m crazy.”
Kendall added, “Our whole household is crazy.” She also posted a number of photos on her Instagram account — one of the police cars lined up outside her home and another of a helicopter hovering over the mansion.
Kendall later said, “I love it when 8 police officers show up at my door and 10 cop cars are outside my house. just another casual Friday evening at the Jenner household. #nbd #EveryonesOk.”
Thankfully, everyone is okay, but Kim’s right. These pranks need to stop. Justin Bieber, Ashton Kutcher and Miley Cyrus have also been victims of SWATTING. Police were also sent to Tom Cruise's house following a report about an alleged armed intruder on the property on Jan. 17.
How do YOU feel, HollywoodLifers? What sort of punishment should a “swatter” get?
