The star opted for a printed Valentino frock — but did you think the floral print was pretty or way too busy? VOTE!
Katy Perry walked the red carpet at the 2013 People's Choice Awards in LA on Jan. 9, where the star switched up her style in a very feminine printed frock. The singer showed off a Valentino dress that featured a floral print and an a-line skirt that flared out after the fitted waistline. The dress also had pockets.
While the star often dresses sexy on the red carpet, everything about her look was much more sweet. Katy's dress accentuated a small waist even though the star was really covered up. A pair of Jimmy Choo pumps completed the ensemble, while the star accessorized with a Jennifer Behr headpiece and Sylva & Cie earrings. I like the way she didn't overdo it, keeping the focus on the printed dress.
Some may say the look was a bit weird, but I loved the dress on the star. Katy isn't one to shy away from taking risks on the red carpet and I liked that she opted for something that wasn't so over-the-top, especially since we're used to see her in so many different looks. While I'm a huge fan of the Valentino frock, I could see some people thinking it is a bit casual for an awards show, especially when there were other stars wearing gowns. While Katy didn't seem out of place, I definitely think I would have preferred seeing the dress on someone at a photocall.
Regardless of whatever Katy decides to wear, her killer confidence always shines through — and I commend her for taking chances on the red carpet! What do you think? Did you like Katy's pretty printed dress or was it way too drab? VOTE!
