After a huge night at the MTV VMAs on Aug. 25, the boys are staying in town for the New York City premiere of their movie, ‘This Is Us.’ Catch all the action from the big night here — watch the red carpet LIVE below! One Direction has been on top of the world in the lead-up to the release of their movie, One Direction: This Is Us. After premiering the movie in London on Aug. 20, the fun-loving boy band headed to the States, where they rocked the Today show on Aug. 23 and then grabbed a moonman at the MTV Video Music Awards two days later. Pregnant Woman, Child Killed In Tragic New Jersey Car Crash Aug 26th 2013, 19:06, by tierneyhl So sad! A pregnant woman and an 11-year-old child were among the three people killed in a horrific SUV crash in northern New Jersey on Aug. 24. Read on for more details. An SUV driver who had allegedly been drinking lost control of his vehicle in an accident that killed three people and injured six others, authorities said on Aug. 25. Julissa Colon, 36, who was five months pregnant, died at a hospital shortly after the crash. Tragically, Julissa’s unborn child didn’t survive, according to a joint statement from local police and prosecutors. Julissa’s relatives, Lucila Colon, 62, and Tevia Booth, 11, were both killed at the scene of the accident. New Jersey Car Crash — Pregnant Woman, Child Killed Julissa, Lucila and Tevia had been heading home from a barbecue at a nearby lake when the accident occurred on Route 15 in Jefferson Township, said Elizabeth Echevarria, Julissa’s sister and Tevia’s aunt. “They were wonderful people,” Elizabeth said. “It’s just a tragedy, losing four members in the family at the same time. I can’t believe it. We are all in shock. Everybody is numb.” The three victims, all from Jersey City, were members of the same family; Lucila was Tevia’s grandmother, according to Fox News. What a terrible tragedy. Alleged Drunk Driver Charged In Fatal Accident The driver of the SUV, Luis Torres, 37, of Jersey City, told police he had been drinking beer for most of the day, and he was returning home from a family gathering when he suddenly veered off the road and overturned, ejecting several of its nine passengers. Luis was being held on $750,000 cash bail on Aug. 25. He faces charges of aggravated manslaughter, vehicular homicide and assault by auto. Luis and his passengers, who ranged in age from 5 to 40, all suffered moderate to serious injuries. This is so sad. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Julissa, Lucila and Tevia’s family during this difficult time. But there’s still at least one person holding onto the memory of the Disney star – Brooke Shields, who played the mother on Hannah Montana, made it clear that she was NOT a fan of the new Miley while on Today on Aug. 26. Brooke Shields Disses Miley Cyrus’ VMA Performance During a recap of the MTV Video Music Awards, Brooke, 48, admitted that she was one of the people who was disturbed by Miley’s overly sexual, raunchy rendition of “We Can’t Stop” and subsequent performance with Robin Thicke. “I was Hannah Montana’s mother!,” Brooke joked with shock. “Where did I go wrong?” Putting jokes aside, Brooke then gave her true opinion on the performance: “I just want to know who’s advising her, and why [the racy display] is necessary… Our children can’t watch that.” Brooke then laid down the hammer, stating, “I feel like it’s a bit desperate.” Miley Cyrus’ VMA Performance — Is Brooke Shields Right? Just by taking a quick look at Twitter, it’s clear that Brooke isn’t alone in feeling this way. Miley’s performance was completely crazy and over the top, and yes, probably a little inappropriate. But isn’t that sort of the point? “It’s our party we can do we want,” is what the hook of her single, “We Can’t Stop,” says. She even predicted that she was going to go into labor whenever the iconic boy band took the stage. Now THAT would have been quite a twist in the show! Nikki Deloach, who plays Lacey Hamilton on MTV’s show Awkward, was literally bursting with happiness and anticipation over ‘NSYNC’s reunion performance during the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards – so much in fact, that the star predicted that she would go into premature labor when they took the stage! Nikki Deloach & ‘Awkward’ Co-Star On Baby’s VMA Arrival Nikki and her Awkward co-stars were interviewed by Red Carpet Report hosts Grimes and Rachel Antonoff. During the interview, the pregnant star admitted that she could become the first star to give birth at the VMAs. “Honestly, it’s a possibility,” she said. “I’m a little close.” And Molly Tarlov, who plays Sadie Saxton on the show, clarified by adding that the award show’s most anticipated performers would be responsible for sending Nikki into labor. “Once *NSYNC gets on stage there’s no telling what will happen,” she says. Looks like Nikki’s baby boy might be jamming to ‘NSYNC as soon as he can wear headphones — not surprising, since Nikki and Justin Timberlake are pals that go way back to their days on The Mickey Mouse Club together! Nikki Deloach’s Happy Pregnancy Nikki was glowing on the VMAs red carpet, proudly showing off her bump in an empire-waisted, blush-colored lace gown.
