How tragic. A 15-year-old boy, Nehemiah Griego, is being accused of shooting and killing his pastor father and family during a bloody rampage on Jan. 19 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Nehemiah Griego allegedly used a military-style assault rifle to kill his pastor father, Gregory Griego, a woman, two girls and one boy on Jan. 19 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Nehemiah was arrested shortly after the rampage. Police found the five victims when they entered the home.
The only victim identified thus far is the alleged shooter’s father, Gregory Griego, a former pastor of the Calvary Albuquerque church.
The church confirmed Gregory’s death to Daily Mail on Jan. 20.
Investigators are currently trying to determine who owned several guns that were found at the home, one of which was a semi-automatic military-style rifle — the murder weapon.
On Jan. 20, Nehemiah was charged with two counts of murder, and three counts of child abuse resulting in death.
According to authorities, each victim was shot multiple times.
This tragedy comes just over a month after Adam Lanza shot and killed 26 people, including 20 children, at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
The Sandy Hook tragedy resulted in President Obama’s push last week to ban assault weapons and intensify background checks on those purchasing guns.
