On TV this Wednesday: Horror Story closes Asylum‘s final chapter, CSI has a real racket going, Modern Family in-laws invade and Necessary Roughness suits up for a new season. As a supplement to TVLine’s original features (linked within), here are 10 programs to keep on your radar.
8 pm Arrow (The CW) | Oliver and Diggle are at odds when the next person on Arrow’s list is his pal’s commanding officer from Afghanistan (played by Stargate: SG-1‘s Ben Browder). Also, Thea suspects that Moira is having an affair with Malcolm.
8 pm The Middle (ABC) | Sue and her Wrestlerettes go up against the cheerleaders when the popular girls announce they’re taking over the sidelines at wrestling matches. Sue, some advice? Be aggressive! B-E aggressive! B-E-A…
PREVIEW | Supernatural Sneak Peek: Sam and Dan Go LARPing With Felicia Day
9 pm Criminal Minds (CBS) | Jamie Luner (Melrose Place) guest-stars as an art gallery owner when the BAU – minus a grieving Reid – investigates a crime in San Francisco’s Mission District.
9 pm Modern Family (ABC) | Gloria’s mom (La Bamba‘s Elizabeth Peña) and sister visit to meet the new bebe, and Cam and Mitchell are on their best behavior as they try to break Lily of some bad habits.
PREVIEW | Suburgatory Starts a Dad Band – With a Surprising Lead Singer!
10 pm American Horror Story: Asylum (FX) | Season finale: Johnny (aka Bloody Face Jr.) sets out to complete his father’s work, and Lana leads the charge to finally shut down Briarcliff. (Yep, it’s already renewed — and here’s scoop on Season 3!)
10 pm Necessary Roughness (USA Network) | Midseason premiere: TK returns to the Hawks, only to find another player has taken his place. Meanwhile, Dr. Dani may have to become a patient herself before she can resume her work.
10 pm Nashville (ABC) | A party to celebrate the success of “Wrong Song” hits a sour note when Juliette’s mom attends and a rival record exec (played by ER‘s Ming-Na) aggressively pursues Rayna. Real-life country stars Brantley Gilbert and Chris Young cameo as themselves.
10 pm CSI (CBS) | Tennis fans will love (get it?) tonight’s ep, which features game greats Chris Evert, Lindsay Davenport and Justin Gimelstob as themselves. In other news, Hodges is engaged to an Italian bombshell named Elisabetta (played by model Catrinel Menghia). Wait, what?
10 pm Top Chef (Bravo) | Sushi and fried chicken figure prominently in tonight’s challenges (and, coincidentally, in my take-out rotation).
10:30 pm Happily Divorced (TV Land) | Saturday Night Live alum Molly Shannon guest-stars as Peter’s nutty sister, who during a surprise visit gets too involved in planning Fran’s second wedding. Superstar!
