Just one day after Rihanna performed her new single, “Stay,” at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards on Feb. 10, the singing siren has debuted her sexy music video for the song! “Stay” — the second single off her 2012 album, Unapologetic – and its accompanying video have to be one huge love letter to the singer’s beau, Chris Brown!
Rihanna Talks About ‘Stay’ Music Video Shoot
While on the red carpet at The Grammys, Rihanna, 24, spoke to Ryan Seacrest about the video’s shoot, saying, “The video was really, really simple. I pretty much stayed put in a bathtub and we shot it really tight, really close.” She continues, “There’s Mikky Ekko in the video, as well, which is — this is the first time I’ve ever collaborated with him, so I’m excited about that, because he’s actually the one who wrote the song, and I kind of just fell in love with it so much, and in love with the tone of his voice, so we wanted to keep him a part of it. So you’ll see him in the video.”
Rihanna’s ‘Stay’ — The Emotional Lyrics
The song, with lyrics that include, “Not really sure how to feel about it/Something in the way you move/Makes me feel like I can’t live without you/And it takes me all the way/I want you to stay” has to be directed at on-again boyfriend Chris, 23, right? While that remains a debate, she did tell Ryan about how she has to prepare to sing the gorgeous ballad.

“Um, it’s a very emotional song and it’s personal, so you just think about, it’s almost like telling a story. And when you tell a story, even to yourself, you know, if you say it out loud and expressing the way you feel, it needs to be powerful because it needs to be authentic.”
