During the gruesome manhunt for the Boston bombers, the FBI arrested two women and one other man into at an apartment complex near the UMass-Dartmouth campus. Was one of the woman being taking away in handcuffs Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s girlfriend?
In hope of more leads on the Boston Marathon bombers investigation, authorizes took three other people into custody during the on-going manhunt for 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. Two women along with a man were led away in handcuffs from the Hidden Brook Apartments on Carriage Drive in New Bedford on April 19. One of the women reportedly could be Dzhokhar’s girlfriend.
Boston Bomber Manhunt: Did FBI Take His Girlfriend Into Custody?
Though it has not been confirmed whether one of the two women apprehended by the FBI on April 19 is in fact Dzhokhar’s girlfriend, neighbors told a local ABC affiliate that Dzhokhar did have a girlfriend who lived in the apartment complex and that they saw Dzhokhar in the area following the Boston bombings. The FBI later confirmed that the woman and the two other individuals were taken into custody but were never booked into jail.
A couple of hours after these three people were arrested, the Boston manhunt concluded when police located, surrounded, and arrested Dzhokhar in a boat just outside of Boston in Watertown,Mass. Authorities revealed in a press conference that a 911 call is what led to finding the surviving brother. Dzhokhar was taken to the hospital and is currently in serious condition after been wounded in the violent shootout with police that killed his older brother and accomplice 26-year old Tamerlan Tsarnaev.
The Boston Police Department confirmed the Dzhokhar capture by officially tweeting,” CAPTURED!!! The hunt is over. The search is done. The terror is over. And justice has won. Suspect in custody”
