Blake Shelton is extremely supportive and a great coach to his country team, but he admitted to HollywoodLife.com exclusively that he was nervous for frontrunner Holly Tucker on The Voice.
Blake Shelton: ‘She Had A Hell Of A Good Run’
“Keep your fingers crossed,” he told us on June 4 before the live show at Pepsi’s launch of IconicSummer.com. “I am a little worried for Holly. If tonight is her last night, she had a hell of a good run!”
Unfortunately for Holly, it was her last night. She landed in the bottom two with Blake’s country duo, the Swon Brothers.
However, just because he was worried doesn’t mean that he isn’t supportive of Holly’s career. He recently took to Twitter to defend her when the music critic for The Houston Chronicle, Joey Guerra, dissed the 19-year-old.
Blake Defends Holly Tucker In Twitter Rant
“#TheVoice sends one singer back to Texas. Don’t worry, it’s not the one we care about,” Joey tweeted on June 5.
Blake did not like that. He started out by tweeting, “Hey @joeyguerra.. I wonder if the state of Texas is proud of the kind of s**t you write about a young Texan like @hollytmusic..? I doubt it.” And that was just the start.
It’s people like you @joeyguerra that make me sick… Holly is not only a talented singer but a great person that’s simply chasing a dream. How about you @joeyguerra grow some balls and come tell me to my face how terrible some of these kids are face to face..? You won’t. Ever. You @joeyguerra are a chicken s**t. I can’t stand a person that makes a point to write hurtful things about kids just trying their best. I swear to God I cant understand the mentality of a grown man ripping on young kids over and over again for just trying their hardest. Kids! How much do y’all wanna bet he’d NEVER criticize my team OR me like that face to face…. Chicken s**t.
