After allegedly choking wife Ashley Morrison, the CBS news anchor addressed his supporters, and critics, on Twitter.

After being released Feb. 19 on $100,000 bond, Rob Morrison took to Twitter Feb. 20 to thank his supporters — and bash those who didn’t believe him. “Sincere thanks to our family, friends, colleagues and viewers who continue to show support,” Rob, 44, tweeted. “It’s humbling and overwhelming.”

He then took a stab at those who didn’t show support, tweeting, “To those who prefer to believe the outright lies printed in the tabloids, I ain’t mad at ya. Good luck.”

The alleged choking case on Feb. 17 followed a series of 10 cases of domestic disputes from 2004 to 2009. Police claimed that after Rob’s arrest, he threatened his 40-year-old wife Ashley Morrison a second time. While his wife did not seek medical help, the marks on her neck were evident to police.

During the hearing, the judge ordered Rob to remain 100 yards away from Ashley, except in the work place; the couple works together as news anchors at CBS News in New York.

Rob Morrison Releases An Official Statement

Rob was charged with second-degree strangulation (a felony), misdemeanor threatening and disorderly conduct. When leaving court yesterday, he was approached by various reporters.

“I did not choke my wife,” he said. “I’ve never raised my hands to my wife.”

Although Ashley was not in court on Tuesday, Rob posted a picture on his Twitter of their joint statement, which included:

“Rob and Ashley Morrison are cooperating full with the authorities to insure that all of the information necessary to properly evaluate this unfortunate incident is made available.”

Rob will be back in court on March 26.
