Courtland is facing serious jail time — and was placed on suicide watch — after his wife Jenelle filed six assault charges against him for allegedly getting physical with her while she was pregnant. But a source reveals to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY why Courtland didn’t assault his wife.
Courtland Rogers‘ marriage to Jenelle Evans has been filled with more drama than a Teen Mom 2 episode, and the final straw in their relationship was when Jenelle accused her husband of physically assaulting her — and she filed six felony charges against him. But an insider reveals to HollywoodLife.com that despite his bad boy reputation, he is not an abuser.
“He has never been known to hit girls,” a source familiar with the situation tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Even with all the stuff he does, I am not the slightest bit convinced he assaulted Jenelle. Just not his M.O.”
Jenelle’s exact charges against her husband include four counts of assault on a female, and two counts of battery on an unborn child, her lawyer Dustin R.T. Sullivan revealed to HollywoodLife.com. The latter charges stem from when she was pregnant with their child, but she tragically lost the baby when she was seven weeks along in her pregnancy.
Courtland isn’t a stranger to the law — he was slapped with felony charges for “obtaining property by false pretenses” in December, as HollywoodLife.com previously reported. He was also arrested in 2010 in connection with a drug bust, but was never charged.
Courtland Rogers On Suicide Watch At Hospital
But even if Courtland isn’t known for being abusive, he is still broken up about the allegations. He opened up to RadarOnline.com about what he’s doing in the hospital.
"I wanted to die because I wasn't with Jenelle," Courtland told RadarOnline.com on Feb. 7. "I just didn't know how to deal with the pain that I'm not with her."
"I am going to get healthy in this hospital,” he added. "I've been under suicide watch and I don't even have shoelaces. All I want is my wife back. Jenelle is my best friend and I miss her."
