Authorities have released images of the three brothers arrested for allegedly holding Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight captive in a home for nearly ten years. The women were found on May 6 after a neighbor helped them break free.
Castro Brothers Mugshots
The former school bus driver, Ariel Castro, 52, and his brothers, Olin Castro, 50, and Pedro Castro, 54, are the prime suspects in connection with holding Amanda, Gina and Michelle captive in the basement of Ariel’s Cleveland, Ohio home.
Amanda's relatives confirm that a child was also found — her daughter, 6. Amanda gave birth to her while being held against her will. At least five babies were allegedly born at the house, while one of the victims suffered as many as three miscarriages because she was so malnourished, police sources say. It is unknown what happened to the children who were born at the home, but the investigation is ongoing.
Neighbor Recalls Heroic Rescue
"I heard screaming, I'm eating my McDonalds, I come outside, I see this girl going nuts trying to get outside," Charles Ramsey, a neighbor, told local News Net 5. "I go on the porch and she says, 'Help me get out. I've been here a long time.' I figure it was domestic violence dispute. So I opened the door and we couldn't get in that way. We kicked the bottom. She comes out with a little girl and says, 'Call 911, my name is Amanda Berry.' When she told me, it didn't register until I called 911…I thought this girl was dead."
After escaping the home, Amanda called police and told them she was being held captive in a house on the city's West Side and that Gina was with her.
The FBI and police will interview the women when they are discharged from the hospital, a detective said.
