The ‘Modern Family’ actress has been vocal about wanting to have another baby with her fiance Nick Loeb, but she opened up in the June issue of ‘Cosmopolitan’ about why she has to use a surrogate. Read on to find out what she said.
Sofia Vergara, 40, desperately wants a baby with her boyfriend Nick Loeb, 37, so she froze her eggs to ensure their dream can come true. However, the sexy Modern Family actress revealed that she won’t be the one to carry the baby — she’ll have to use a surrogate because of a serious medical condition.
Sofia Vergara: I Will Have To Use A Surrogate
Sofia opened up in the June issue of Cosmopolitan why she has to use a surrogate, and the details behind her fertility treatments.
"I had to go to my doctor's office a hundred million times to do injections. The [rumor] probably came from that,” she revealed in the magazine. “My doctor had told me 'We have a small window.' I said, 'That's so rude!' I already have a kid, so I never thought I would need to do that. But I will have to use a surrogate, because I had thyroid cancer and lots of radiation. I don't want to wait forever, but not yet, because I'm working like an animal."
Sofia Vergara & Nick Loeb Welcoming A Baby Soon
A source close to the couple revealed to Page Six in March that the couple is trying to have a baby soon, especially because Nick is desperate for a child of his own.
"A baby is something they've both wanted for a while, particularly Nick, who has been pushing for it. He is a little uneasy that the surrogate is Sofia's close friend, but is very excited about becoming a father,” the source told Page Six. “The child will be biologically Sofia and Nick's baby, and she has selected a surrogate — who is a very close girlfriend — to carry the baby," the source revealed.
