Don’t break his heart, his achy breaky heart. Sean puts his contestants through their paces in a themed photo competition with the prize of appearing on one of three Harlequin romance cover novels with him. That’s not random — not random at all.

Sean Lowe made his second appearance on The Bachelor on Jan. 14, and it was pistols at dawn for the ladies who are trying to win his heart, as they dressed up as cowboys, vampires and prom queens to compete for a rose. The episode began with Sean selecting Sarah for a private date with a helicopter and a bungee jump — what’s wrong with dinner and a movie? Of course the other girls oozed with jealousy as they fake laughed and and made “awwww” noises. You could cut the tension in that room with a knife.

Sean and Sarah’s Bungee Jump

Dramatic music swelled as Sean and Sarah got cozy in the helicopter, and Sarah proved her devotion to Sean when she bungee jumped down the side of a building with him. Nothing says love than plummeting from a dizzying height to a bottle of champagne. Sarah is making a big impression on Sean so far — she looks set to be a big competitor this year. Sarah went on to tell him an emotional story from her past, and she has now got Sean in the palm of her hand. Even I felt myself getting mushy when Sarah said, “Sean is my perfect man.” And Sarah gets a rose!

My mushiness turned to sickness however when Sarah said she is falling in love with Sean — it’s only been one week!

The Ladies Get Competitive

The next date is a group date for 12 girls, as name after name is called out. Why not just invite everyone, Sean? Once again, Tierra shows her true colors by saying, “I gotta kick some butt!” As they say, all is fair in love and war! The girls are taken to a sprawling Beverly Hills mansion for a photo shoot, where Kacie decided to state the obvious when she said, “A lot of girls means a lot of drama.” She got that right!

The girls are competing for three REAL — really? — Harlequin romance novels covers that will be sold all over America — because there is no greater measure of love than what you see on The Bachelor. And season 17′s villain Tierra continued to rub her competitors the wrong way, by acting nice to Sean and mean to the girls. Quelle surprise! She then said she will be “agressive”  if that’s what it takes to win — no shock there!

Sean got to see Leslie‘s sexy side, as she upped her A game by KISSING him on the lips! The only thing missing from the explosive photo shoot was Tyra Banks and her dramatic pauses. Kristy was crowned the winner, and holes were literally burned in her dress by the other girls’ death stares. OK, well not literally.

Sean’s Dates Continued

During a romantic poolside date, Leslie admits that she is truthfully on the show to “find love”. Well, that’s why everyone is there. I mean why on earth would anyone else go on the show? She then blows her chance of getting a rose by talking nervously instead of kissing Sean. The moment was perfect, you fool! However, she redeems herself by taking a chance and kissing Sean. Hooray!

Other highlights: Kacie moves from “friend zone” to “love interest zone” (and gets a rose in the process!), Sean and rumored fiance Catherine eat some vegan food, and Sean confronts Tierra for her unfriendly ways. However, once again she pulls the wool over his eyes and convinces him she is a nice person. Wake up and smell the roses Sean! (Pardon the pun).

Sean Pranks Desiree

Sean invited Desiree for his second private date, and he and Chris Harrison decide to play a prank on her! They organize for a “priceless” piece of art to fall and break while she is alone in a room with it, and the girl manages to keep her cool like a pro. Desiree’s sense of humor while a crazy fake artist yells at her garners her an invite back to Sean’s place. Nice work, Desiree!

While there, they gushed about their parents’ romances and how cute they are — somehow I guess neither of their parents met on a televised dating show. But their date was sweet — Desiree is another contestant who I see in the show for the long haul. The cute couple have some sexy time in the pool, AND SEAN TAKES HIS SHIRT OFF! I believe it is written into Sean’s contract that he must be shirtless a minimum of seven times an episode. And in a game changing twist, Desiree is hesitant to accept the rose after the prank. Sean is lost for words, but she eventually accepts. Good for her making him work for it!

Once again, Sean decides he “could see this girl as my wife.” Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Sean Eliminates Even More Contestants

Katie decides to leave the show as she felt “uncomfortable”. If you can’t handle the heat, get out of the kitchen.

Sean seriously has the best life. After all his really cool dates, he attends a cocktail party to select which women he is gonna kick to the curb. Wedding dress Lindsay — her formal name — nips in at the last minute to get some alone time with Sean in an attempt to convince him to let her stay. And it works!

Gallons of wine are drunk as the girls get freaked out by Amanda‘s moodiness, and Sean sends home Brooke and Diana during a rose ceremony that is offset with tense pauses and climatic music. But he was a total gentleman about it. What will happen next week?

And of course the episode was not complete without some slow motion scenes of Sean throwing rocks into the sea — he gets his best thinking done that way.

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Did Sean eliminate the right women?
