Colin Ford, known to Supernatural fans as Young Sam Winchester, is the first actor cast in CBS’ upcoming Under the Dome, our sister site Deadline reports.

The young actor will play Joe, a bright kid who freaks out when he realizes that he and his parents have been separated by a giant dome covering their New England town.
The 13-episode drama is based on Stephen King’s 2009 novel, in which a community finds itself trapped beneath a massive, transparent barrier. The situation soon turns to chaos.
Dome is produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and will premiere Monday, June 24, at 10/9c.
In addition to his Supernatural gig, Ford voiced the titular Jake in Disney Junior’s Jake and the Never Land Pirates; his TV credits also include The Mob Doctor, Private Practice and Revolution.
