On TV this Monday: The Carrie Diaries introduce Ms. Bradshaw in the ’80s, Continuum gets its U.S. showcase, Being Human begins again and 2 Broke Girls brave the great outdoors (including a pair of “bears”). As a supplement to TVLine’s original features (linked within), here are 10 programs to keep on your radar.

8 pm The Carrie Diaries (The CW) | Series premiere: Before the steady stream of men and Manolos, Sex and the City‘s Carrie Bradshaw was a suburban Connecticut teenager with dreams of making it big in Manhattan. Based on the Candace Bushnell novel, this prequel finds a 16-year-old Carrie (played by Soul Surfer‘s AnnaSophia Robb) newly motherless and trying to navigate high school. But when she lands an internship in New York City, the fun begins. Matt Letscher (Eli Stone) plays her dad, Austin Butler (Life Unexpected) a new guy at school and Chloe Bridges (90210) her high school rival. (Get more scoop.)

8 pm Continuum (Syfy) | U.S. premiere: This Canadian import stars Rachel Nichols (Alias) as a cop from the year 2077 who gets swept up in a band of terrorists’ plot to escape death by time-traveling, back to 2012. Erik Knudsen (Jericho) and Victor Webster (Castle) co-star. (Read preview Q&A.)

8 pm How I Met Your Mother (CBS) | Robin insists that Barney ask Robin Sr. (returning guest star Ray Wise) for permission before they announce their engagement.

9 pm Being Human (Syfy) | Season 3 premiere: Picking up more than a year after the events of last season’s finale, Sally is still in limbo, Nora and Josh take a stand against Ray, and Aidan — no longer buried alive — realizes that much has changed.

9 pm Bunheads (ABC Family) | Carl insists that Boo meet his parents, Talia sets Michelle up on a (geriatric?) blind date and two newcomers intrigue the girls.

9 pm 2 Broke Girls (CBS) | Caroline and Andy… and Max… spend an awkward vacation weekend together in a cabin in the woods.

9:30 pm Mike & Molly (CBS) | Molly and Mike give up caffeine and eat healthier (and suffer huge withdrawals) to boost their chances of getting pregnant.

10 pm Lost Girl (Syfy) | Season 3 premiere: Until now, Bo hasn’t had to choose a side as she attempts to bring peace to the Faedom. Yeah, that changes tonight.

10 pm Castle (ABC) | Beckett and Castle investigate New York’s music industry when an up-and-coming DJ is killed at a pop star’s album release party. Taylor Cole (The Glades) and Michael Irby (The Unit) guest-star.

10 pm Deception (NBC) | Robert (Victor Garber) discreetly handles a threat to his family, while Julian (Wes Brown) deals with the loss of his sister in a very self-destructive way.
