The 80-year-old record executive and music industry legend reveals in his new memoir ‘The Soundtrack of My Life’ that he has lived a ‘bisexual life’ — a secret he has kept from the public throughout his successful career.

Clive Davis has been revered as a music industry legend as a, five-time Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member, but rarely has the music industry executive opened up about his personal life — until he released his memoir, The Soundtrack of My Life, out in stores Feb. 19.

In the book, Clive — who has been married and divorced twice — opens up about his personal life, but saves the revelation about his personal life toward the end of the book. He writes about a sexual experience with a man during “the era of Studio 54,” according to Rolling Stone. 

“On this night, after imbibing enough alcohol, I was open to responding to his sexual overtures,” Davis says. He reveals he had only been with women before, and being with a man was “welcome relief.”

He separated from his second wife in 1985, and had two more relationships with women, and one with a man. He was in a long-term “monogamous” relationship with a male doctor, who is namelsss in the book,  and after breaking p in 2004, has been in a relationship with another man since.

Over his more than five-decade career, Clive scribes anecdotes with various music industry big wigs, including devoting an entire chapter to working with the late Whitney Houston – including attempting multiple interventions.

He also reveals his work with music’s biggest stars throughout his career, including Bob Dylan, Brice Springsteen and Kelly Clarkson. Clive’s new memoir, The Soundtrack of my Life, hits bookshelves on Feb. 19.
