As far as casting news goes, this is about as good as it gets: Former Saturday Night Live superstar Kristen Wiig is set to make an appearance in Netflix’s anticipated Arrested Development revival as a younger version of Jessica Walter’s Lucille Bluth.
As noted by Vulture, which first broke the news, AD vet Jason Bateman likely orchestrated the casting coup, given his off screen friendship with Wiig (the pair co-starred in the comedies Extract and Paul).
Last month, Netflix announced that Arrested Development‘s 14-episode fourth season would be available sometime in May.
In addition to Wiig, guest stars on tap for the relaunch include Seth Rogen, Liza Minnelli (aka Lucille 2), Conan O'Brien, John Slattery (Mad Men), Chris Diamantopoulos (24), Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers) and Terry Crews (Everybody Hates Chris).
