Leave it to Kim and Kanye to stir up a bit of controversy! The parents-to-be imitated the iconic Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil on Feb. 9. Do you think it was inappropriate?
Kanye West posed on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine, wearing a crown of thorns and wrote a rap song called “Jesus Walks.” Now, he and Kim Kardashian are copying a Jesus Christ statue, the iconic Christ the Redeemer, in Brazil on Feb. 9.
Kim and Kanye are currently sightseeing in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Wearing a bright pink dress, Kim, 32, showed off her growing baby bump and imitated the statue’s pose first. Then, she and Kanye, 35, copied the pose together, drawing attention from other sightseers.
Fans React On Twitter
One fan on Twitter said, “adorable.” Another said, “Ironic because they both need Jesus! LOL.”
One fan, who seems to be super excited for the arrival of the Kimye baby, said, “I’ve heard that Kanye and Kim’s baby is the second coming of Jesus…” So I guess in that sense, the picture is appropriate, not offensive.
Kanye West Poses As Jesus Christ On ‘Rolling Stone’ Magazine
In 2006, Kanye stirred up more controversy when he posed as Jesus Christ on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. The “Jesus Walks” singer wore a crown of thorns. Plus, during The Concert for Sandy Relief in December, Kanye wore a Jesus Christ hoodie.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are Kim and Kanye being offensive? Or was the photo taken all in good fun?
