Paralympic gold medalist Oscar Pistorius is being charged with murder in South Africa after accidentally shooting his model girlfriend on Feb. 14. Eerily, just one day earlier, she tweeted, ‘What do you have up your sleeve for your love tomorrow???’
Paralympic gold medalist and the first double amputee to ever compete in the Olympics Oscar Pistorius, 26, has been arrested from his home in Pretoria, South Africa, after reportedly mistakenly shooting his model girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp, 30, multiple times because he thought she was an intruder. The couple had been dating since November 2012. Early reports say this killing may have been a Valentine’s Day surprise gone wrong.
After the girlfriend tweeted, ”What do you have up your sleeve for your love tomorrow???” she was shot at Pistorius’ home around 4am.
She was reportedly spot multiple times, in the head, arm and chest.
Oscar Pistorius Admits To Owning Multiple Guns
Crime is rampant in South Africa and Pistorius admitted to Daily Mail before the 2012 London Olympics that he slept with a pistol next to his bed, a machine gun beside the window and a baseball bat near his front door.
“The problem is when the guards are in on the crime. It's usually safe in guarded estates like this until that happens,” he told Daily Mail.
Pistorius is scheduled to appear in court in South Africa later today.
