Demi Lovato’s breakup with Joe Jonas is part of the darker days that she no longer dwells on. But that doesn’t mean they haven’t influenced how she lives today. Demi got downright frank in a new interview, revealing that her breakup with the JoBro left her completely devastated and downtrodden.
Demi Lovato: ‘I Was Really Mad’ At Joe Jonas
“When you go through heartbreaks and things like that, you always have in mind somebody,” the 20-year-old singer said about Joe and how the relationship influenced Demi, her fourth studio album. “We were in a relationship and we broke up, and at one point I was really mad at him.”
In the interview, Demi is totally honest (as usual) but pretty cut-and-dry — is it possible that there are still some lingering feelings there? The breakup — though she may be over it now — obviously took a big toll on her.
Demi Lovato: Joe Jonas Is Like A Brother Now
Fortunately, Demi is able to say only good things about Joe these days. “Now I can, fortunately, say that him, and his brother Nick, have always been there for me, and are literally family, and like brothers,” Demi says. “We have a great friendship. And we may not be as close as we used to be, but that’s okay.”
How sweet — this is the sort of relationship between exes that we love to see!
Joe further proved that he and Demi are like family on May 14 when he congratulated Demi on her new album on Twitter. “Congrats @ddlovato on the new record! So happy for you,” he tweeted enthusiastically.
