While you may have thought the shocking season one finale of ‘The Following’ was the end of the road for Agent Debra Parker, that isn’t necessarily the case!
The Following star Annie Parisse talked EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com about the future of the her character on the hit show … even though she was buried alive in the season finale!
Annie Parisse: Agent Parker Could Be Back
On The Following, anything is possible. At least that’s what Annie told us on Thursday, May 9 at the New York premiere of Star Trek.
So, does that mean she could return in season two after being buried alive? The show does do quite a few dream sequences.
“I don’t know, but I wouldn’t put it beyond the realm of possibility!” she said. “They do flashbacks as part of the show, so why not?”
Now that’s what we wanted to hear!
On season one of The Following, we quickly fell in love with, and then lost many characters — no one was safe! Annie agreed that even though she was a major character, she had no idea when would be her last day at work.
“Shawn Ashmore (who plays Agent Mike Weston) & I talked about it – I think the third episode – and both Shawn and I were sitting on set one evening, and we kinda just looked at each other and were like ‘yeah I guess this is one of those anybody-could-go-at-anytime kind of shows.’ I was very happy I got a great death scene.”
Shawn — who was lucky enough to survive season one, after one heck of a beating, is Annie’s closest friend on set. “We spent a lot of time together, had a lot of laughs!” she told us.
Kevin Bacon Is The ‘Most Generous Guy’ Ever
Annie seems pretty lucky to have a great team of actors to work with! It’s got to be quite the experience to play Agent Parker, who is one of the few women that Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) trusts.
“Oh he’s fantastic,” Annie told us about Kevin. “Honestly. Oh my gosh, I really cannot say enough about him. He is really an actor’s actor.”
Referring to him as “the most generous guy,” Annie explained that being the main character in an hour-long drama takes a lot of work, and Kevin doesn’t ever falter. “[He's] so committed. He was just constantly prepared, always with the energy, always a smile and a spring in his step. It was great!”
