Kate and William and breaking tradition yet again! Her uncle Gary Goldsmith has confirmed that his niece will be staying with her parents for the first six weeks after the royal baby is born! Are YOU surprised?

After reports surfaced that Kate Middleton will move in with her parents after she gives birth to the royal baby in July, her uncle Gary Goldsmith revealed in a new interview that she will be staying with her mom Carole and dad Michael Middleton for the first six week’s of the newborn baby’s life.

Kate Middleton Will Live With Parents After Baby’s Birth

Kate and her husband Prince William will break royal tradition yet again by not having the future monarch be rasied in a royal residence as soon as it is born. Gary told The Telegraph that not only will the Duchess of Cambridge be at her mom’s house — he thinks it’s a great idea!

“The fact that they’re taking the baby to Carole’s for the first six weeks is genius,” he said. ”Carole’s a brilliant mum – she is 10 years older than me and practiced on me – and I think it’s the right thing to do. It will take the pressure off Kate.”

Uncle Gary’s confession follows a report from the Daily Mail that stated Kate had been telling friends she was going to stay with her mom after giving birth. One of the main reasons was because their apartment at Kensington Palace — which is undergoing extensive renovation after asbestos was reportedly found — wouldn’t be ready for the couple in time for the baby’s arrival.

Kate Middleton ‘Doing Brilliantly’ In Her Role As Mom-To-Be

While Uncle Gary says his older sister will be a fabulous mentor to Kate while she’s raising the baby, he also says his niece and her husband have been doing amazing jobs as parents-to-be in the monarchy.

“Kate’s doing brilliantly in that role. She's made the Royal family more accessible. And you throw a baby into that mix – they're going to do it fabulously,” Gary added. ”You just know that the baby is going to be introduced to the public fantastically well.”

We think Kate and William are also doing a great job, and are going to make fabulous parents! What do YOU think of Kate staying with her parents for the first few weeks, HollyMoms? Do you think that’s a good idea, or deviates too much from royal tradition?
