The 18-year-old up-and-coming rapper was tragically gunned down in his Louisiana hometown on June 20. Two days later, police have now issued a warrant for the man who they believe pulled the trigger.

Lil Snupe, 18, who was shot and killed on June 20, was undoubtedly taken too soon, just as his career was taking off. But justice may not be far off.

Police Have Suspect In Lil Snupe Murder Case

Louisiana police have issued a warrant for the arrest of Tony Holden, a 36-year-old man who they suspect shot and killed Lil Snupe during a heated argument over video games, according to TMZ.

Police have reportedly not yet been able to locate Tony, who TMZ reports is a convicted felon. He is believed to be armed and dangerous.

Lil Snupe Killed At 18 Years Old

Lil Snupe celebrated his 18th birthday on June 13, a week before he was killed, and seemed to have his whole life ahead of him. The aspiring rapper, who had just recently been signed by rapper Meek Mill, tweeted on his birthday, “Blessed 2 See 18.” How devastating.

Meek Mill was apparently thoroughly impressed by his protege and had big things in mind — it only took about 15 minutes for Meek to know that Lil Snupe had great talent. “He was in a van, they was finna pull off. And I went and knocked on the van, on the window. They let the window down, grabbed the mixtape and it was like 10 minutes later, 20 minutes later they called me,” Lil Snupe told MTV News in April.

Lil Snupe’s manager sadly confirmed his death on June 20: “The call I got this morning is un real RIP 2 my lil n***a lilsnupe,” he tweeted. The 18-year-old’s death is so tragic and sad — there were clearly great things in store for him. Our thoughts and prayers continue to go out to Lil Snupe’s friends and family, and we hope the police find their man.
