Katy and John may not be engaged yet, but a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that the heart-shaped ring Katy was spotted wearing on Valentine’s Day is definitely a gift from John! So sweet.
Katy Perry was spotted leaving a romantic dinner at Vincenti in Brentwood with John Mayer on Feb. 14, while flashing a stunning red ruby ring! Find out all the details on the ring and where John purchased it from!
A source close to the couple tells HollywoodLife.com exclusively, “It was purchased about a week ago in Daniel Gibbing’s jewelry boutique by John Mayer. It’s a one-of-a-kind Daniel Gibbings ring featuring a 12 carat ruby high-dome cabochon heart shaped center, accented by two teardrop faceted tsavorites and rubies, set in 20 karat gold.”
John, 35, definitely bought it for Katy, 28, and it seems likely that it was a Valentine’s Day gift! He’s such a romantic.
“Yesterday was the first day Katy was spotted wearing the ring, as far as I know,” our source says. In fact, John purchased it around the same time they visited Katy’s parents. ”I believe Katy and John were in Santa Barbara last weekend visiting her parents.”
Daniel Gibbings is a Santa Barbara-based jeweler.
Another source close to the couple tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY, “They aren’t engaged and I wouldn’t anticipate to see them engaged anytime soon.” It seems that the ring was simply an expression of love from John.
That’s a bummer! But, we are still happy to see that the couple seems to be so in love, even without the ring being an engagement ring!
