After being arrested on May 23 for marijuana possession, reckless endangerment, and tampering with evidence, Amanda took to Twitter to deny all of the charges.
On May 23, cops were called to Amanda Bynes‘ apartment after a person reported that she was smoking marijuana in the lobby. Upon arrival, Amanda allegedly threw a bong out the window of her 36th-floor Manhattan apartment before being arrested by NYPD.

In her first tweet since her marijuana arrest, Amanda denied all of the charges. The 27-year-old actress wrote, “I only smoke tobacco I don’t drink or do drugs. I’ve never had a bong in my life! I need to get another nose job after seeing my mugshot! :D”
Amanda Bynes Could Go To Prision After Throwing Bong
Although Amanda denies doing drugs or owning a bong, former New York federal prosecutor Raoul Felder tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that Amanda could face jail time for throwing the bong.
“The real offense is throwing the bong, not smoking the weed,” Raoul explains. “She could have killed someone, but she won’t go to prison for this. She will get committed to a program just like Lindsay Lohan, and if she won’t go then they can send her to prison.”
Raoul explains that for Amanda to be committed to a psychiatric hospital, “She has to be determined a danger to herself or to others. That is hard. It’s more for people who have attempted suicide. Right now she can only be held for 24 hours, then she would have to be certified [as mentally unstable.] I don’t think that will happen.”
