Angelina Jolie's Kids Were Supportive During Double Mastectomy May 15th 2013, 11:32 After the brave actress made the selfless decision to have a preventative double mastectomy, her family offered endless support to get her through the difficult procedures — especially her six kids. Angelina Jolie shocked the world on May 14 when she published an op-ed piece in the New York Times that revealed she underwent a double mastectomy after finding out she carried the breast cancer gene. The Oscar-winning actress said she wanted the procedure so she could be alive for her kids, and her kids were not only grateful for their mom’s choice — they were inredibly supportive. Angelina Jolie’s Kids Supportive During Mastectomy The actress and her partner Brad Pitt made sure to keep their six kids on their everyday schedules throughout her invasive procedures, but a source tells Us Weekly that her kids were all super supportive. “The kids were wonderfully supportive,” an insider tells the magazine. “Everything she does she does to be there for them.” Angelina ‘Debated’ Coming Out About Procedure Angelina’s revelation on May 14 blindsided even those close to her, and the source says she wanted to keep it private until she felt it was the right time. “This has been a private struggle for her. She put everything else on hold to deal with it,” the source tells Us. ”She debated coming out about, it but thought about it a lot and decided she could help others by sharing,” the source explains. “It was a very hard decision, but she did it, and is glad she did it.
