While Kim originally denied rumors that Kanye wanted that name for their baby on March 28, during an interview on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, she must have had a change of heart. However, it may take fans a bit longer to accept the peculiar direction the parents took with their daughter’s name.

Unfortunately, some Twitter users already started making jokes about the name.
“So I’m assuming that North West won’t be a One Direction fan?” @Lord_Voldemort7 wrote on Twitter.
“Make fun of Kim’s name choice for North West if u want, but that baby is going straight to the top.. And slightly to the left,” Jake Warrington joked on the social media site.
“‘North’ is a fine name. North West. In either case, it’s their baby. North is better than some I’ve heard: Lashonda & Facishia. What say you,” KISS rocker Gene Simmons tweeted. He’s one of the few who supports the name.
