“Kanye doesn’t think he’s a star, but he thinks his little girl is — and her name, North, points in that direction,” reports an insider close to the couple.
Listen, of course she’s a star to you, but she’s also going to be carrying a name that’s so unusual that other children may unfortunately tease her about.
“The number one thing that kids get teased about most is their name. Kids will tease the child about their name because that’s the biggest part of their identity,” explains psychologist Dr. Mary Lamia, author of Understanding Myself: A Kid’s Guide to Intense Emotions and Strong Feelings.
Lamia advises Kim and Kanye on how they can counteract the effects of teasing.
“If a child has a strong sense of herself, she should be able to deflect the teasing. If you’re going to give your child an unusual name, the child needs to grow up knowing the importance of that name to the parents and that it was something important and loving to them,” Lamia advises.
Dr. Gilda Carle is more concerned by your baby name choice, Kim and Kanye.
“This child has to grow up with other children, and when children are so different from each other, they end up bullying,” the celebrity relationship expert fears. “Kim and Kanye are going to have to go into over-time in giving her assertiveness skills, just to defend herself,” explains the 30-second therapist for Today.
You Might Just Get Lucky, Kim And Kanye
Now, Kim and Kanye, the fact that you are huge celebrities can actually protect little North West.
“If the kid were a normal kid with normal parents, it would get harassed like crazy,” says Dr. Cooper Lawrence, co-host of The Big Show with Scott and Todd on WPLJ. “The child’s name is less important when you’re the daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. The hardest part for North West is living up to their legacy.”

You Still Have To Be Careful — This Is A Big Move, Kim And Kanye
In any case, even though you two are huge and wealthy celebrities, you still live in a world where your daughter will interact with other children and families — not all of whom will also be celebrities.
And, like any child, she will have to learn how to get along with other kids, some of whom will be wonderful and sweet and will become her friends, others whom will be tougher and may make fun of her name.
But, children who pick on other children will always find a reason to bully, even if a child has a totally normal name, so I guess that’s just life. All children have to learn how to deal with these difficult situations.
