Before the former Teen Mom voluntarily checked herself into rehab, she hinted at her commitment to stay away from booze during an exclusive interview with HollywoodLife.com! Find out what she said.
Farrah Abraham, 22, is currently in The Lukens Institute in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, after checking herself into rehab on July 1. She talked with HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY before she went to rehab, and she revealed plans of furthering her career — without alcohol! Was she hinting at a drinking problem?
Farrah Abraham’s Restaurant — Why She Wants To Open Booze-Free Joint
Although the former Teen Mom star dabbled in porn when she created Farrah Superstar: Backdoor Teen Mom, her true passions are cooking and the restaurant business. The single mom to daughter Sophia, 4, reveals her plans for opening up a new restaurant. Even though she hasn’t found any property or an exact location yet, it sounds like a clever idea!
“The main theme and purpose of why I'm making this restaurant is really the community involvement,” Farrah tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “It's called DD's.”
But the restaurant isn’t named after the Teen Mom’s newest cup size — it stands for drinks and donuts, and designated drivers!
“It's drinks and donuts, but everything is non-alcoholic and the program is for having designated drivers making good driving choices and decisions. I personally am going through a DWI situation, having to pay a lot of fines,” the 22-year-old reveals.
On top of fines, she’ll be forking over more than $12,000 for her 10-day rehab stint. She said she has also dealt with other tribulations since being arrested in March, including “a lot of probation” and putting a Breathalyzer in her car.
“I feel like when people are going through special hardships and have so many restraints put on them, it's good to be rewarded,” she said. “It's good to have free food. It's good to have all these perks when you go out and eat and a fun and great environment."
Farrah Abraham Pleads Guilty After Denying DUI Charge
Farrah was arrested on the early morning of March 19 after nearly colliding with a police car. She was then given a breathalyzer test, in which she blew a .147 — almost twice the legal limit of .08. At first, Farrah completely denied the charges, claiming she was “sick” the night of the arrest.
“I could not give an accurate breathalyzer test, due to coughing and shortage of breath,” she said at the time.
But when she was faced with the possibility of jail time, suddenly her story of being “sick” turned into being drunk. At a June 6 court session, she pleaded guilty and was sentenced to six months of probation in lieu of jail time, according to TMZ.
Needless to say, Farrah has definitely had some learning experiences in the last few months, and between voluntarily checking into rehab and planning the opening of an alcohol-free restaurant, it sounds like she’s doing everything she can to turn her mistakes into successes!
