A number of Chester’s Mill’s residents die as others try to hide their secrets on the July 1 episode of ‘Under the Dome.’

Barbie (Mike Vogel) is having nightmares, while sleeping over at Julia's (Rachelle Lefevre) house on the July 1 episode of Under the Dome. Maybe it’s because he’s killed her husband and realizes he lost his dog tags during the fight. Plus, she has no idea!

Duke Dies & No One Knows Who’s In Charge Anymore

Sheriff Perkins (Jeff Fahey) is dead. The dome causes his pacemaker to explode and now no one knows who’s in charge.

All electricity is cut off except for the radio station. Julia, who is a newspaper editor, heads to the radio station to see what she can find out. When she overhears military personnel calling the barricade a dome, she alarms all of the residents. However, she doesn’t realize she’s doing more harm than good.

Councilmen Jim (Dean Norris) is trying to take over Chester's Mill. And his son, Junior (Alexander Koch), has his ex, Angie (Britt Robertson), chained up. He tells her she’s sick and he’s going to make her all better. He’s upset that she slept with Barbie. (She really didn’t, but he assumes they did after they were seen sharing a cigarette.) She admits she did sleep with Barbie just to tick Junior off.

Big Jim & The Reverend Are Keeping A Big Secret

At the town morgue, the local reverend appears to be the town coroner. He’s ready to examine Duke’s body, but Jim accuses him of being high on something. Apparently, they’re in on something pertaining to the propane tanks, but we’re not aware of it yet.

Jim goes searching through Duke’s belongings at the police station, where he finds his will — he’s left everything to his deputy, Linda (Natalie Martinez), including his house.

Amidst everything that’s going on, the town’s residents begin wondering who’s in charge. It’s clear that Jim wants to be in control.

Barbie Tries To Cover Up Peter’s Murder

Junior follows Barbie into the cabin where Peter, Julia’s husband, died. Barbie and Junior get into a fight, but Junior doesn’t stand a chance. He gets beat to a pulp. However, Junior tells Angie he killed Barbie and that he wants them to be in love again.

The reverend goes to Duke’s house, where he finds the documents that would get them all in trouble. He burns them, but accidentally sets the entire house on fire! The reverend’s now trapped in the house, but Deputy Linda saves him before the propane on the side of the house explodes.

The entire town tries to fight the fire with buckets of water. They’re afraid the whole town will set on fire and they’ll burn along with it all. Luckily, the councilman knocks the house over with a bulldozer and they smother the fire.

Big Jim gives an inspiring speech (think Jack on LOST), but Paul (Kevin Sizemore), a police officer, says everyone is going to be dead soon. He shoots his gun off at the dome and it richocets back, killing another police officer.
